Vancouver forum is an open forum which daily sketches the diversity and the commonality of Vancouverites. It is also an online community where you can discover and discuss various aspects of life in Vancouver and the world at large. If you are a visitor or a soon-to-be resident of Vancouver, or simply have an interest in it, you are more than welcome to join the group of Vancouver Forum posters, but know that any questions you may have about the city and its neighborhoods, the quality of life and lifestyle, are likely going to be met with a barrage of insults by some our resident comedians.

If you are a Vancouverite who just stumbled upon these pages, you'd best get the hell out of here before anyone sees you, but if you do decide to join in, for God's sake don't tell them your ethnicity or you may never hear the end of it! Do not be surprised by uncensored and sometimes blatantly stupid, crazy, remarks that shouldn't ever be spoken in private, let alone on a public forum. If that still hasn't deterred you, then you probably have a thick enough skin and a good enough sense of humour to handle this place. Good luck. You're going to need it!

Prescription for CANADA !

Unread postby YVR Man » 21 Jun 2012, 03:31

NO ONE IS LISTENING OR WATCHING THE ............... ECONOMIC CARNAGE AROUND US,

ALL WE SEE IS MORE TALK TALK AND NO ACTION,

BC FERRIES IS PART OF OUR WATER TRANSPORTATION NETWORK , THEY ARE PART OF OUR HIGHWAY SYSTEM IN OUR PROVINCE,

PROBLEMS WITH RIDERSHIP ? YES ,THEN FIX THEM,

WANT TO STOP THE DAILY 3 HOUR VEHICLE BORDER WAITS FOR SHOPPERS GOING SOUTH TO THE USA ?,

THEN LOWER RETAIL PRICES IN CANADA BY 15%,

DO THE SAME FOR THE GAS PRICES IN CANADA BY 15%,

OUR CANADIAN DOLLAR HELPS FINANCE COMMUNITIES IN THE USA WHERE MILLIONS OF CANADIAN VEHICLES GO TO GAS UP AND SHOP,

RETAIL IN CANADA GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE, DO THE MATH,

IF YOU HAVE GREEDY PROFIT ASPIRATIONS , YOU WILL HAVE SHELVES FULL OF UNSOLD PRODUCT,

TOURISM, YOU GREEDY PROFITEERS,

LOWER YOUR PRICES AND FEES,

AND YOU WILL SEE MORE TOURIST BUSINESS COME YOUR WAY ,

AND LOCAL BUSINESS,FIRST DO THE MATH,

THEN GET THE APPETITE TO HELP YOURSELF,

BECAUSE THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT WILL NOT BAIL YOU OUT,

OR SUBSIDIZE YOUR STUPIDITY,BECAUSE NAFTA WILL NOT ALLOW IT,

EITHER BECOME COMPETITIVE OR GO HOME BROKE,
:rules:
"It's not within the frame of mind that created the problem that can solve it."
A favourite Einstein quote.

"The path to independence is self sufficiency and self reliance."

another idiotic post by one of he uber leftwad fuckturds who post financial drivel on here......if you want to lower prices in canada by 15% then you must do the following....

1. lower taxes small businesses pay to support your welfare payments
2. reduce business fees
3.reduce government regulations that add untold costs to all retail operators
4. get rid of silly environmental regulations.
5. reduce the minimum wage and government payroll taxes

but of course living in a fantasy world allows you the benefit of believing you can have all those things and still pay nothing for the produts you consume.....lalalalallalalalalalallaland

So the government is going to make the 'under-taxed businesses' lower retail prices?

I agree to a certain extent with what YVR is saying. It's a knee jerk reaction, to raise prices when difficulties set in....and BC Ferries is a prime example. How simple it should be for them to figure out....they keep raising rates....ridership keeps going down.

Yeah. BC Ferries should cut routes to make up budget shortfalls. No one will complain about that!
They made her beg them for more.

6. Banish EI. At least seasonal EI. It wasn't meant to give lazy people a paid vacation off of the backs of hard working Canadians. They can beg for change like the rest of the unemployed bums.

lol@homero.com.....i know he doesn't know this but EI is supposed to be an "insurance program" where all workers and employers contribute the funds through "payroll taxes" as opposed to other government welfare schemes which are paid from general revenue taxpayer dollars

You people crying for your entitlements and welfare will make any excuse.

Take a look at what you pay into EI. Now take a look at what you get from EI. Big difference, eh?

EI is for those who can't work. You've personally admitted to working the least that you can and scamming as much as you can. You're no better than any welfare bum who chooses not to work.

Yeah, right. You didn't like Canada being too much of a nanny state so you decided to be part of the problem?

No, you're no different than any other welfare or EI bum. You all think you deserve something from the government, isn't that right?
