Board index Vancouver Forum

Vancouver forum is an open forum which daily sketches the diversity and the commonality of Vancouverites. It is also an online community where you can discover and discuss various aspects of life in Vancouver and the world at large. If you are a visitor or a soon-to-be resident of Vancouver, or simply have an interest in it, you are more than welcome to join the group of Vancouver Forum posters, but know that any questions you may have about the city and its neighborhoods, the quality of life and lifestyle, are likely going to be met with a barrage of insults by some our resident comedians.

If you are a Vancouverite who just stumbled upon these pages, you'd best get the hell out of here before anyone sees you, but if you do decide to join in, for God's sake don't tell them your ethnicity or you may never hear the end of it! Do not be surprised by uncensored and sometimes blatantly stupid, crazy, remarks that shouldn't ever be spoken in private, let alone on a public forum. If that still hasn't deterred you, then you probably have a thick enough skin and a good enough sense of humour to handle this place. Good luck. You're going to need it!

I couldn't read the rest of the thread until I'd scanned to see if someone had corrected him on that.

the Olympic Village is buzzin about this one and the Chinese have been caught before...like the Americans, Canadians, Brits, Auzzies, Japanese, Italians, French, Dutch, Russians, but nobody did it better than the East Germans...

Joe she is faster then the men because she lacks the drag a penis and scrotum add to the swimmers..

So Yes, Females would have a hydrodynamic advantage over men in swimming due to lack of a sack and a penis

Also china has a Billion people joe and a comunist govronment so if a young person shows a talent for winning they get taken from their homes and are forced to swim for their Country... No matter if they want to or not... They and their family have no choice in the matter... So that would also produce a difffrent swimmer than we have here in the Westen World.

Were we do it because we want too not because we are Forced too...

Hey! no doubt, waybulz!

But if you were in that girl's shoes what would you rather be - an Olympic Swimmer...OR...a peasant girl toiling 16 hours a day...or a factory worker toiling 14 hours a day, 7 days a week for dah Fahderlund...making some rich commie capitalist filthy rich?

For most of China's 1.4 billion population, that is the reality, except perhaps for 100 million or so Super Rich, Middle Class and those with decent jobs. It's probably pretty grim fer most people, and so sports can be seen as a way out.

Yeah, I know someone from the ex-USSR, who was blessed with athletic talent, and like you say, the state plucked him, put him through a rigorous routine of training day in and day out. Then they matched him up with competition to see who was better. He kept moving up and up until one day he met his match. And when he couldn't win no more, they tossed him out of the system like a piece of broken down machinery. He was finished at 18 or so.

Those Communist type systems for breeding excellence are brutal factory type treadmills.

They just grind people to the pulp in search of finding the Best One.

Our Sytem to create pro Hockey players is no diffrent in Canada tho Joe and I ain't no Sidney Crosby thats why Work a Manual Labour Job (although well paying) Welding pipelines together and Fabricating stuff ...

I am not going to win any Stanley Cups or IIHF World Junior Medals or Olmypic medals for team Canada in my lifetime.. :( but you know what as long as team Canada wins with people like Sid the Kid, Iggy with Bobby Lou in net... I am ok with that as long as Canada Remains Number 1 at mens and womens ice Hockey.

She also broke a World Record
