The parade, which features a variety of floats, community groups, live music and dancers and
performers travels along 124th Street, turns left onto 75thAvenue, continues on 76thAvenue, onto 128th
Street, then back to the temple.
Date:Saturday, April18, 2015
, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Participants are requested to cover their heads, and not to smoke or drink at the event. The annual Vaisakhi
Parade is one of the largest events in Surrey & draws 80,000-

 I like the title.

Here's one: Chinese New Year this Sunday, February 14 at Dr. Sun Yat Sen Garden, by donation:

The Year of the Monkey Temple Fair 庙会

Sunday Feb. 14 from 10am – 4:00pm
Entry by donation, suggested $5,
Tickets available online and at the door
(online tickets get priority entry!)

To celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden presents The Year of the Monkey Temple Fair, a one-day festival on Sunday February 14th, 2016. This is a community event based on the 4000-year-old Chinese tradition of the Spring Festival, the largest and most important festival of the year in Chinese tradition.

The Garden will present dynamic and engaging Chinese and multicultural music and dance performances, martial arts demonstrations, traditional Chinese New Year customs, games and activities for the whole family. The festival is the opportunity for the Chinese community to share its cultural traditions and invite the wider public to participate in it.

As for the sign of Monkey – it’s been said that people born under the sign of Monkey are highly adaptable and versatile. Enthusiastic about everything, they spend their time broadening their minds and are especially fascinated with art. They like refinement, originality and luxury. Inventive and intelligent, those born in these years can solve most problems quickly and skillfully, and are able to accomplish much in business.

Come experience:
-Traditional Lion and Dragon Dance Performance
-Chinese games and crafts
-Martial Arts Performances
-Chinese Folk Music
-Traditional Arts Demonstrations and Art Market, including:
Kosho Gao, Calligrapher/Stamp Carver/Painter
Malisa Tsai, Chinese Paper Cuts
Terry Sasaki, Asian-infused fashion and artist
-Tea Ceremony by local tea masters
Luke Moloney and Adrian Sinclair
-Much, much more!

Please present donation receipt to Garden admission staff upon arrival.

Event will run rain or shine!
