diners are great. especially if the cook has a cigarette in his mouth....

That doesn't happen here. There are small towns without police where there's a little more leeway - but I think even there it wouldn't happen because we're full of hippies.

Since I could select up to 4 options, I picked every one but No. Around here, all the good diners are owned and run by Greeks. Anything you want to eat at all hours of the day and night. Breakfast, sammiches or a dinner. Denny's was always good for that. And then there's Cracker Barrel ... but I don't think they're open overnight.

Was it something to do with when Greeks immigrated that diners are mostly owned by Greeks?

I have no idea but they tend to do a good job of owning and operating basic diner-style restaurants with a wide variety of food.

I check it out. In San Jose, the capital, there are many chain type restaurants. I'd have to think there are a few. In the Guanacaste there are many many Sodas, a Soda is a small restaurant. Many have specialties. Sea food, Tico specialties, etc. Love the seafood here, but miss cold water fish.

I voted Yay but I have no favorites in Vancouver. In Phoenix I break fast at Coco's and Denny's. Jerry's sucks for food and service.
