Position Summary

Under the clinical direction of the Team Leader Mental Health & Addictions, and as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team, this position is responsible for providing a range of alcohol and drug services and interventions along the health continuum from health promotion, harm reduction, including blood borne virus awareness and treatment, addressing the full spectrum of need. This position participates in a multidisciplinary health care team approach and provides community based case management system: providing individual assessment and treatment planning for adults experiencing problems related to their substance use; provides individual, family and/or group interventions as identified through assessment. Provides, support, guidance and education to individuals and their families/carers. The incumbent will be expected to work within the framework of Harm Reduction in Substance use, promoting the benefits of this approach in collaborative work with collateral service providers. The position requires flexibility. Use of personal vehicle may be required.

Qualifications

- Bachelor of Social Work degree or Baccalaureate Degree Social Sciences or Allied Health Discipline. Two (2) years recent experience working directly in alcohol and drug treatment and/or mental health treatment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Valid B.C. Drivers License.
