Board index Vancouver Forum

Vancouver forum is an open forum which daily sketches the diversity and the commonality of Vancouverites. It is also an online community where you can discover and discuss various aspects of life in Vancouver and the world at large. If you are a visitor or a soon-to-be resident of Vancouver, or simply have an interest in it, you are more than welcome to join the group of Vancouver Forum posters, but know that any questions you may have about the city and its neighborhoods, the quality of life and lifestyle, are likely going to be met with a barrage of insults by some our resident comedians.

If you are a Vancouverite who just stumbled upon these pages, you'd best get the hell out of here before anyone sees you, but if you do decide to join in, for God's sake don't tell them your ethnicity or you may never hear the end of it! Do not be surprised by uncensored and sometimes blatantly stupid, crazy, remarks that shouldn't ever be spoken in private, let alone on a public forum. If that still hasn't deterred you, then you probably have a thick enough skin and a good enough sense of humour to handle this place. Good luck. You're going to need it!

haha! nah.. this thing is much finer than that:).. it leaves your skin silky smooth for at least two weeks.. and the experience of removing hair is something else - it gently burns and tickles some. my fav of course is a lil flashlight so no hair gets left behind! :yinyang:

dd, I have the silk-epil and I LOVE it! You're absolutely right about skin feeling silky smooth afterward. After using it, I usually sit around in shorts for the next few days stroking my legs. :blushing:

lol@chainsaw:))

it doesn't hurt at all rw! all you feel is lil scratching.

High frequency massage
The high frequency massage system stimulates the skin and effectively soothes the plucking sensation during epilation to maximize your skin comfort.

I have an older version which doesn't trick my skin quite as effectively (or maybe I should get all arrogant and say that my skin is smarter than dd's!!) and I have to say that the first few times I used it, it hurt somewhat. Now it doesn't bother me at all.

haha.. i got so desensitized using my older version, which would burn moderately, that using this new device feels like a gentle, scratchy massage at most.

I am partial to some moustache's, on some men.... but you have to have the right face for it. So, post pics Loch and I'll advise further :D

This thread seems to be for women, but I suspect that I might be welcome here. I wear hosiery with shorts, so I think that it is important to keep my legs relatively hair free.

Image
I use the Silk Epil 5.* and it hurts a lot. It's loud too. When I first used it, I thought that it was pinching my skin and ripping it off. I was so scared. I still haven't gotten used to it.

I think that it hurts me more because my hair is probably thicker than yours. Then again, it hurts even when I remove thin hair, too.

The sad thing is that my hair usually grows back ingrown, so my legs can have a very disgusting feeling.

aww:(.. sorry to hear that eugene! i have very little body hair and have no problem with ingrowing but i think if i were to use epilator on my pubic area i might get them because pubic hair is thicker than normal body hair.. which is why i use my silk-epil 7 shaving extension on my pubes:)

Maybe I'll try that, but for now, I'm pretty happy with using an old pair of scissors and on old comb on the pubes. It doesn't need to be a close cut. It just needs to be short enough so that it washes away easily. I hate washing down there, and then having pubic hair stick to my hand afterwards.

Too much info? Well how do you think that I feel?? :w00t!: :D
