Board index Vancouver Forum

Vancouver forum is an open forum which daily sketches the diversity and the commonality of Vancouverites. It is also an online community where you can discover and discuss various aspects of life in Vancouver and the world at large. If you are a visitor or a soon-to-be resident of Vancouver, or simply have an interest in it, you are more than welcome to join the group of Vancouver Forum posters, but know that any questions you may have about the city and its neighborhoods, the quality of life and lifestyle, are likely going to be met with a barrage of insults by some our resident comedians.

If you are a Vancouverite who just stumbled upon these pages, you'd best get the hell out of here before anyone sees you, but if you do decide to join in, for God's sake don't tell them your ethnicity or you may never hear the end of it! Do not be surprised by uncensored and sometimes blatantly stupid, crazy, remarks that shouldn't ever be spoken in private, let alone on a public forum. If that still hasn't deterred you, then you probably have a thick enough skin and a good enough sense of humour to handle this place. Good luck. You're going to need it!

Link building Level 4. Extra 5 bucks unless you buy tix at 7-11 adjacent to domestic carousels.

Okay, I know where the 7-11 is and I know where the International Terminal is - thanks guys!

Canada Line is actually above the parkade. You can take the bridge from Domestic, International to the parkade and up or direct walkay from Link between the two buildings.

Just look for the Canada Line signs showing the directions located thru out the airport. Anybody their will show you if your confused.

Btw, if your using a tkt and your going dt during business hrs, you got to add a zone fare to your txt (a real exercise at the tkt machine) . Dt is two zones, tkts are for one zone.

I can say I haven't had much luck with those damn ticket machines. The last time I tried to take the train, the damn thing wouldn't accept my card.

It's only 1 zone on Saturdays and Sundays, everything is one zone.

I'm pretty sure it'll end up costing her like almost 10 bucks to take the Skytrain if that's what she's doing.

Yup, basically all of (Greater) Vancouver is one zone on Sat/Sun. But at the airport skytrain station you have to pay some sort of airport fee that gets added to the cost of the ticket, it's something like 7 bucks, it pissed me off last time I came from the airport.

...no choice but to pay it.

If your traveling with a couple of friends, it's cheaper to take a cab dt.
With a cab, you only pay once, on sky train each has to pay a fare.

It always amazes me when I'm there, I'll see 3 or 4 friends travelling together paying the extra $5 to take the sky train when the taxi would be waaaayyy cheaper.

The 'bridge' to the station is between the international and domestic terminals. The airport ain't too hard, it's basically one big strip.

That extra cost is a pisser though, let's see, the fee being something like 7 or 9 bucks, plus 2.50 for a one zone, that's almost 10 bucks if it's 7 for the fee. !0 bucks for a 25 minute ride to downtown Van.

btw, welcome to Van lol.

I'd take the cab, but I'm like that. Watching the city go by from a window, hearing the driver tell me what it was like back in Sri Lanka.
I'm just like that.

I second that! We're flying north to visit family for 3 days, instead of a 9 hour drive each way....

Your'e going to miss the drive though the canyon. Missing the stop at Alexandria Bridge and looking down at the river and imagining
what men made a road through here.

Burrard and Georgia area.

CANADA LINE from YVR to Granville & Georgia!!! 24 minutes! Trains every 7 minutes!

If paying cash at YVR ($5 Add Fare): $8.75 on a weekday, or $7.50 evenings and weekends...
OR pop into the 7-11, or Shoppers drug store at YVR and buy the books of 10 pre-paid tickets, or DayPasses, and SAVE that $5 ADD FARE!

I used to take the #3 in the early 2000s :) I have to say Super, it was a bit of a crazy bus ride in the morning.

Oh, but did you ever have/remember the autistic guy who used to talk to random people very loudly?

Doesn't ring a bell, but there were alot of unique passengers...

I don't miss those "city" routes...

Much less craziness in the suburbs...

He was an interesting fellow.

We used to call the #3 "the drunk bus" late at night. One night, we had a guy take my friends box of donuts she picked up from work and run off the bus with them at Broadway haha
