If you are a visitor or a soon-to-be resident of Vancouver, or simply have an interest in it, you are more than welcome to join the group of Vancouver Forum posters, but know that any questions you may have about the city and its neighborhoods, the quality of life and lifestyle, are likely going to be met with a barrage of insults by some our resident comedians.

Get my money back from a distracted cashier/dork @ Capers on W 4th today.

$8.88 for a loaf of bread & a piece of cake-I gave him a ten he gave me back another ten and $1.12 in change! :D

In my exeperience, the saying does not apply equally to all.

It is neither Right nor Wrong whether the cashier was abused or not.

Some are easily tempted into Faustian bargains to reap Monies and Fame.

Another, Christ-like, would have simply, for no reason, returned the change.

Both actions are pure but one of the two is a deceiful cheat. Which one?

Cheats will Cheat again and again and again...

My dagger awats the blood of cheats...

... I digress...

The reward for the return of the cash might have earned him/her a date with the cashier :sexes: .

The Reward(s) will reflect who you deeply are... not when old and senile, but instantly...

Cheats have a narrower range of potential rewards.

That's happened to me a few times, I give it back and they feel stupid. But at least I didn't cost them to lose that off their check. That person is struggling too.

I doubt Whole Foods is so big as to compensate the cashier for his/her loss. So it's not Robin Hood so much as...dog-eat-dog.

Bill doesn't care - he got his cake and ate it too. Because he has an excellent relationship with the media and knows his way around the block. It was a smart move. He’s there…because of me. Of course. And the results: Epic failure for Whole Foods.

Have you seen the things her campaign workers posted on Twitter? About me? My wife and one of my children? Does he know what that’s like? Let me just write one thing and see if she understands what I’m going to do to her and her government this week. Stay tuned. This will blow open next week. It’s unbelievable how she has no control over this government. None.

Exactly.

And you.

Enjoy your weekend.

Are you really so stupid as to believe that the $10 comes out of the cashier's pocket?

Have you never worked retail-not at at all?

Did you not know that the store takes the hit not the employee?

Do you know nothing of BC Labour law?

(don't answer-we know the answer)

Teenie Weenie wrote:I like whole foods.

Have you ever seen a cashier last more than 3 months there?

Or someone in the bakery?

FYI-It's an absolutely hellish place to work they treat their employees like shit on a shoe

Bill, you seem like such a mean guy.

How old was she? Some naiive 20 year college student who's just trying to make some extra money or pay the rent?

If she's out on her till, can't cover it, she can lose her job.

He was some late twenties neo-hippie idiot know-it-all who couldn't be bothered to pay attention when he was working he had to be telling other people how to do their jobs instead-remember I was right there and watched the whole transaction.

Average Joe wrote:If she's out on her till, can't cover it, she can lose her job.

Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one can be fired for coming up short like that-again you have never worked retail and you know SFA about Labour Law.

I've managed retail and I know-staff aren't liable for those kind of mistakes and it's against the law to even suggest they should make up any shortfall.

Besides isn't Whole Foods the greenest/friendliest/most trustworthy bunch of corporate pukes imaginable?

They wouldn't treat their staff poorly would they?

I guess you don't remember when I posted here about passing the phony $10 bill that I picked up in Richmond-a local greengrocer spotted it and wouldn't take it so I went to what was then Capers and they were singing Happy Birthday to some staff member -I waited until the song was finished anf handed the cashier the bill she never even looked @ it.

That woman still works there part time-so she wasn't fired and you can bet your boots she never gave them a real tenner out of her purse either.
