Tsk tsk, Asal. You should know better. :wink2:

There's always a bus plunge happening somewhere in the world.

Shimla: One person died and at least 15 others sustained injuries as a bus fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, police said

The private bus was on its way to Chhatrari from Palampur when it met with the accident at Luna in Bharmour, Superintendent of Police Monica Bhutunguru said.

I have to admit, though, that I've never heard of a vehicle "meeting with" an accident.

This is most certainly not a case of travelers well met, then.

Thank you scooter for your valuable contribution. It is important to keep this useful cautionary tale in the public's consciousness., as the Capt. mentioned earlier.

Over 20 bus plunges occured over the last year and none were reported here. It is a shameful failure on my part. I will do my best to update the list.

A speeding bus smashed through the boundary wall of an expressway bridge and plunged into a drain in northern India early Monday, killing at least 29 people on board, an official said.

Most passengers were sleeping when the accident occurred on Yamuna Expressway near Agra in Uttar Pradesh state, said government spokesperson Awanish Awasthi. The bus was on its way to New Delhi from Lucknow, the state capital.

Awasthi said 18 injured passengers have been hospitalized with six of them in serious condition.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, he said.

"The bus was speeding and the driver probably dozed off," District Magistrate N. G. Ravi Kumar told reporters. He didn't know whether the driver was among the dead.

India has the world's deadliest roads, with about 150,000 killed and 470,000 injured annually. Most crashes are blamed on reckless driving, poorly maintained roads and aging vehicles.

Yeah I’ve driven commercial busses before.

But I wouldn’t do it again unless I was paid several hundred dollars for a short distance single ride.

Its not worth it given the wage that many companies pay/underpay the driver. There’s a high level of skill required to drive those busses yet the liability on the driver is extremely high.
