A hormonal balance?

I didn't realize this was a challenge.
Just trying to let you know you don't have to be afraid of soy sauce. Beer has more phytoestrogens in it than soy sauce.

Don't need to read anything. Hops are high in phytoestrogen.

Shush Mr. Know-it-all.
You'll smoke a cigarette, but won't touch soy sauce. There's no logic here. The end.

It would be good for you or anyone else to stop smoking, however you’ve made this claim 20 times. Cigarettes and nicotine are habit forming drugs. Most resume.

A chunky pepper(ed) rump steak medallion on a crusty sesame seeded bun.

Nothing else on it. Sometimes not putting on extras like salads and condiments/cheese is just more enjoyable and given the pepper marinade and lean-ness of the cut, it tasted good and wasn't a messy chomp.

Pulled pork for dinner this Sunday and cake to celebrate one of the kiddoes’ bday. I also want to make homemade ‘slaw. I’ll be looking for the dressing recipe online later today.

The deli had a 150 piece fried chicken order for 8:00 this morning. I'm smelling chicken early in the morning and thinking "Damn, all I wanna do is go home, get drunk and eat chicken."
I was going to go up to the beer store after work, anyway so I decided to pop-in to Jerry's for a 8-piece broasted chicken.

Would that be considered a piece of sirloin? (to me)

Also, just to bug you ... your piece of meat from March 5th ... my guess is a bone-in pork butt (shoulder) steak. Tell me I'm wrong.

Nah... just a mini rump steak trimmed up.

Lamb chop for the 5th.

Just looked it up... North American sirloin I guess?

But our rump steaks are pretty lean and lack marbling.

pulled pork was ok but i really need to stop adding any sugar to it - it's so unnecessary. next time i'll limit the spices to black pepper and salt and add some soda water to tenderize while baking.

This makes me wonder what cut of pork you are using. I don't know why you would add sugar or soda water to it. That fat should take of itself. That's why you use pork shoulder. An alternative is using the rib end of a pork loin. That's my favorite and it's a smaller portion and I'm only cooking for myself, anyway. Also known as a chefs prime pork roast.

Right. And I can see why they call it a rump steak. I know how to cut meat but I've never had to break down a pig or steer. I know how they're put together, though. The sirloin is towards the ass end.

Not that you care or if I should share it, I went out to dinner Monday afternoon/evening. It was my Dad's Wife's Birthday. I sent her a text to say Happy Birthday. She said they were going to The Saloon for dinner and I should join them. I wasn't sure if I felt like doing that or taking a nap or if I felt like eating. Tired and weak. 11 days in a row at work and I've been drinking too much.

It's right up the street from me and I got up off my ass and joined them. I got the 10 oz. sirloin steak with brussels sprouts and asparagus. The steak was meaty and tasty and cooked to a perfect Medium.

Good point, Scooter. Honestly, no need for soda either, I was just following the recipes for Luisiana pulled pork that call for Coca Cola and modifying them to avoid sugar. Any sugar just kills that lovely umami, porky, flavour for me.

I need the entire shoulder, there is 5 of us to feed on any given day so it all gets eaten.

Okay. Yeah, I've heard of people using Dr. Pepper or whatever in recipes. Maybe in some cases it helps break down the meat and others, it just adds flavor.

For dinner, I was really hanging for a nice Scotch filet (beef), a kilo of unshucked Kiwi mussels, and some broccolini or asparagus all done on the grill.

But lamb chops were going for 11 bucks a kilo, got those instead along with both vegetables and the mussels were already in my freezer.

Skipping the mussels. Seafood with lamb doesn't sound appetizing.

Will make some mashed potato instead.

I worked the closing shift last night and took the easy way out. Stouffer's vegetable lasagna, the 96 oz. size for $16. Sets me up for today with leftovers.

It's a day off for me. I was up WAY late last night. Got out of bed at 9:30 with my head in a fog. Had a cup of coffee and that helped a little. I self-motivated myself to get dressed and walk up to the beer store for a 12-pack of Troegs Nugget Nectar around noon. I remembered that I had a gummy to eat and popped that into my mouth around 1:00. It has been a comfortable afternoon.
