Bitcoin's value is propped up artificially.
Real world factors might bring it down - but then whoever's over at Tether is going to manufacture that value back up on command.

So here we are...2024...and I still have ZERO understanding of bitcoin. :worry:

I'm ok though. In my town...and surrounding towns, I have never seen the option to pay for something in bitcoin. :D

give it 30 minutes and some transaction fee and your transaction might go through at some fluctuating exchange rate.
The future of money.

The fees are too high and transaction speed too slow for it to be good for anything except speculation and large transactions.

If you were going to buy a coffee, it's better in DASH, Bitcoin Cash, or any other besides BTC.

Many places accept cryptos but it's more targeted in certain regions. For other regions, using a Visa linked account card with instantaneous crypto conversion is the norm.

To buy a 7 dollar cup of coffee with bitcoin, you'd have to wait for the transaction to clear... up to an hour, and would spend 10, 20, 30+ dollars worth of Bitcoin in added fees.

People use other cryptos with only a few cents added fees to buy that 7 dollar cup of coffee, or a third party holds their Bitcoin in a large pool and issues credit to be used on a typical Visa bank card, thus reducing the fees significantly and allowing crypto to be used anywhere that accepts Visa fiat card payments.

That's OK mimi.
Neither do I.
In fact, the more I read about crypto I find the less I understand it.

What I understand is that crypto is invisible.
Ya can't HOLD it in your hands OR ever SEE it.

So....a person is buying something which is a very ABSTRACT entity.

All i know/understand about Crypto is it can fall really hard and really fast.
So with speculative entities like that it's never wise to buy it HIGH.

Only time a person should ever consider buying it is after a CRASH.

Right now Crypto is trading at all time HIGHS.
so anyone who buys it can really get BURNT when it falls, which appears to be happening NOW.
