You need a cat..
They don't always solve the problem though. Snap traps do work though! I also put out some poison, but it will take a few days to judge its effectiveness...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Ended up killing a mouse in the trap on my intake manifold today. I'm not sure this was the same rodent that I saw earlier on there... What puzzles me is that I read that mice don't travel very far from their food source... There is no garbage or anything outside to attract them, so I don't know why...

Re: Racism ?

Maybe it's time for segregation again. Many may not agree, but let's be honest... Things seemed to work better when everyone knew their place.

Re: Re: Tech Talk

I might hit up Costco for a new car battery. They are only $100 each. That might not be a bad idea, since you're wanting to remove the terminals anyhow to clean everything up, so you're already 90% into the work of installing a fresh battery anyhow. As a rule of thumb I give car batteries around a ...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

It might not be a rat. It could be a chipmunk. They can do a lot if damage and I imagine you have quite a few of the western species where you live. If he was making a nest in the air cleaner then I can almost garrentee it was a chipmunk. They did the same to my old Envoy when I lived in WA. They a...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Looks like he was in the process of building a nest in the air cleaner housing. Hopefully I caught it before any more damage is done. Might have to come up with a way to install some sort of mesh screen over the air intake duct...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Just popped my hood to check the oil and whatnot, and found a fucking rat chewing on the firewall insulation! Fucking things. I've seen the odd mouse around, but not a rat before! I have nothing outside to attract them. I'm guessing he is using the insulation to make a nest. Will leave engine runnin...

I could not get the positive terminal to come off. Its stuck for some reason. Rinsed it with hot water. Wanted to put the anti corrosion rings on .
Try prying the connector apart a bit by tapping a flathead screwdriver or something in there...

These things run on propane?
Not generally, although I'm sure you could find some sort of conversion kit for some... Propane conversion usually makes sense with forklifts and whatnot run inside a warehouse, but not really for a piece of equipment that will only run outdoors.

Re: The Coronavirus AKA Covid19

Conform to the agenda people, and turn people in, be good little 1984 sickos. Pretty sad state of affairs. Where I live, we haven't turned this crazy yet. Most people don't wear masks, and I haven't seen any stores requiring them. America is becoming less and less the 'land of the free.' Your foref...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Here's one of the best mods I've done to my mower... Chopped the end of the discharge chute off. My mower was really struggling through some thicker, wetter areas, due to clumping. This is hard on everything: Engine, belt, blade spindles. At least on my Husky, cutting it short like image below compl...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Ever look at a gas reel mower, that's what i would really like to have, but they are really expensive, and you kind of need a perfect yard to begin with. They are the smoothest cutting ones out there. That wouldn't really work well for this lawn... The rider gets it done pretty well! My only mistak...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

I've filled and seeded a few of the deeper holes, but to smooth out the entire lawn is simply a massive task that I don't wish to undertake! It looks good, just can't always mow at full speed... I don't mind mowing slower... have a beer or two and become one with the machine!

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Three hours, how big is your yard again ? I used to cut a big church lawn about two, and a half acres in an hour on foot, 45 if I got with it . There's probably two acres of grass in total. It's not all just one big square though, so there's a few obstacles to deal with. It's also not perfectly smo...

Re: Re: Tech Talk

Then that would bring your property size closer to mine that needs the mowing! My Husky is easy... Hydrostat trans means no shifting, no fucking around... Easy Forward/Reverse. It takes me about three hours to mow this entire yard properly, but it isn't bad with my rider... There are a couple tricky...

I'm still not convinced that a zero-turn mower (expensive!) is best for the amount of area you have to mow!

Re: Re: Tech Talk

I don't mind a pressed deck if thick enough, most are not anymore. Last i went to lowes most the mowers flexed when I put my foot on them, Deer was one, Cadets, Troy another. Try out a Husky deck... Mine is pressed, but is pretty solid. It won't flex at all. I have the three blade 48" cut deck, but...
