EAt Walnuts To Improve Your Memory

Post: # 94997Unread post Gary Oak »

Walnuts are known for their powerful impact on heart-health. Their rich levels of omega-3 fatty acids help decrease risk of arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeats), triglyceride levels, and lower blood pressure. Now, a new study from the University of California, Los Angeles, suggests adults who consistently eat walnuts can improve their cognitive function, too.

This study is the first large-scale analysis of walnut intake and cognitive function, and it

Better than using the pharmaceuticals out today if it works, no bad side effects that cause other issues.
People should try more of the older remedies, a lot are proving to be better than today's stuff.

Take This 2-Ingredient Sleep Recipe To Never Wake Up Groggy Again

 Posted on September 30, 2015Health And Wellness 3 Comments

By Jesse Alvarado

We all know how important it is to get a good night’s sleep, but in recent years, the average amount of sleep we get has been steadily decreasing. In both men and women, the average amount of sleep has dropped from 7-8 hours a night to 6-7 hours.

While this might not seem like a big difference to some, it makes a huge difference to your body. During the day, your body is working hard to keep up with your day and it requires the appropriate amount of time to rest, recover, and recharge to do it all over again.

Most people think that not getting a good night’s sleep simply means you’ll be a little tired the next day, maybe a little foggy. It’s nothing that a cup of coffee can’t fix, right? Coffee does help, but loading yourself up with caffeine is a band-aid solution and not a permanent fix.

Health and Lack of Sleep

A lack of sleep is also a factor in some of the most serious health problems in people and can be a trigger for illness and disease. Studies have found that people who have a shortened sleep, which is defined by less than 6 hours are at an increased risk of heart disease.

In 2011, the European Heart Journal’s review of 15 medical studies involving almost 475,000 people found that people with shortened sleep cycles had a 48% increased risk of developing or dying from coronary heart disease. They also found that these people were also at a 15% greater risk of developing or dying from stroke.

Interestingly enough, the study also found that long sleepers, or people who average nine or more hours a night, also showed a 38% risk increase in developing or dying from coronary heart disease and a 65% increased risk of stroke. With sleep, as with most things, balance is the most important thing.

Another similar study found that a lack of sleep predicted higher blood pressure. For most people, the body uses the time you are asleep to lower blood pressure, and with a shorter amount of sleep there may not be enough time for this dip to take place.

Daily Distractions

The world we live in today doesn’t make it any easier for us to get a good night’s sleep. People are reporting higher levels of stress caused by things like work, current events, family situations, and other factors that didn’t affect past generations. We are also using more and more technology that affects our sleep cycles without us even realizing it.

There are many sleep aids that can be purchased but they are artificial and may even cause dependency with some people. As always, Mother Nature has provided us with a natural solution to this ever increasing problem.

The Ultimate Sleep Solution

This simple, 2 ingredient solution is your key to getting a great night’s sleep. It will help your body relax and regroup from the day and prepare itself for the next morning.

All you need is:
•5 teaspoons of organic raw honey
•1 teaspoon of pink Himalayan sea salt

Mix these two ingredients together and store it in a glass jar. You can make as much or as little as you want, but a 5:1 ratio works the best. Just put a little bit of this mixture under your tongue every night before you go to sleep and let it dissolve naturally.

Salt and Honey

Himalayan sea salt contains more than 80 minerals and elements that your body needs for different processes, aiding your body in recovering from the day. Honey contains glucose with aids in supplying our body’s cells with energy.

This salt and honey combination works to increase serotonin as well, helping us to destress naturally allowing us to get the best sleep possible. So try out this natural sleep aid, and rest easy knowing your body will be ready to face the day.

Editor’s note: if this doesn’t work, I will try it with some slightly warmed raw milk – yum! Have you tried this – did it work for you?

The Edge Effect

I highly recommend reading this book. I have found that eating the foods that are high in the nutrients that your brain uses for the main four neurotransmitters has improved my memory and I feel a lot better.

The page cannot be found :(

Chia seed, Hemp seed, and a good quality ubiquinol are some good things for the brain.
One key is to keep the Omega 3, and 6 balanced, with most of today's foods it's way off.

I have three avocados at home right now. My girlfriend and I are going to have one each when I get off of the computer.

http://www.naturalhealth365.com/avocado ... -1642.html

Avocados shown to block cancer cell growth and protect your heart

NaturalHealth365) An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but research shows the creamy avocado can hold its own when it comes to keeping you healthy. Studies have found the avocado’s generous supply of fatty acids, carotenoids, and other helpful nutrients are useful in the prevention of cancer and heart disease.

But that’s not all the avocado has to offer. Once known primarily as the main ingredient in guacamole, the fruit is growing in popularity for its usefulness in fighting metabolic syndrome and obesity, along with supporting healthy joints, skin and vision.

Eat food that makes your body ‘unfriendly’ toward cancer

The secret to the cancer-fighting capabilities of avocados can be found primarily in the carotenoids and monounsaturated fat they contain. Studies have documented a significantly lowered risk of several types of cancer, including breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Avocados also contain the antioxidant glutathione, which protects cells from cancer and other dangerous consequences of free radicals. Because of the large number of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds present in avocados, it can be difficult to pinpoint which of them are having the greatest impacts in reducing the risk and spread of cancer.

But, there is a wealth of scientific research on prostate, oral and skin cancers, with results showing that the compounds found in avocados help prevent cancer from metastasizing, bringing about cancer cell death instead. In one of the most recent studies published, avocatin B, a type of fat present in avocados, was shown to combat acute myeloid leukemia (AML), a rare but deadly form of cancer.

The study was conducted by researchers at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada; Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Ontario, Canada; and the Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada. Published in the journal Cancer Research in June 2015, the findings revealed that avocatin B targets leukemia stem cells, which are responsible for causing most cases of AML recurrence. Research continues on the many cancer-fighting properties of avocadoes.

A delicious way to keep your heart healthy

In addition to reducing the risk of cancer, the health advantages of consuming avocados include a healthier heart. Avocados contain the plant sterol beta-sitosterol, which is known to support healthy cholesterol levels.

Research has shown that the intake of avocado may enhance the plaque-fighting properties of HDL cholesterol, which helps in protecting heart health and avoiding atherosclerosis. Avocados also contain significant levels of potassium. Potassium helps control hypertension by relaxing blood vessels and arteries, thereby reducing chances of heart attacks, strokes and clogged arteries.

Avocados are also loaded with monounsaturated fatty acids, which not only reduce the risk of cancer, but also have been shown in numerous investigations to lower cholesterol levels. In one such study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers in Queensland, Australia, compared the cholesterol-lowering benefits of an avocado-enriched diet high in monounsaturated fatty acids against the benefits of a diet rich in complex carbohydrates.

Fifteen female subjects between 37 and 58 years old took part in the study. Both diets were shown to lower total cholesterol, but the impact was significantly more pronounced with the avocado diet (8.2 percent decrease compared to 4.9 percent decrease. The women also experienced a significant drop in their LDL cholesterol levels while on the avocado diet, but not while following the complex carbohydrate diet.

Simply ways to add avocados to your diet

Although avocados are well known as the main ingredient in guacamole, there are many other ways they can be incorporated into your meal plans so you can reap their many health benefits. For example, you can add avocado to your next smoothie for a delicious (creamy) taste, add slices to salad or make pudding.

The avocado’s nutrient make up actually allows for optimal absorption of carotenoids not only in the avocado itself, but in other foods consumed at the same time. Research demonstrates that the avocado’s unique nutrient profile promotes joint, eye, and skin health and helps prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and obesity – so, get started today!

Just keep in mind, the carotenoids and other beneficial components are most plentiful in the dark-green part of the fruit’s flesh, closest to the skin. That means to obtain the greatest benefits, you need to carefully peel the fruit in such a way that you retain the fleshy portion nearest the skin.

It's a super food, but I can't eat them :yuk: like broccoli.
If you can stay away from to many sugars it helps, and alkalizing the system, to much acid, and sugar is a playground for cancers.

Five Essential Oils Proven To Fight Cancer
http://worldtruth.tv/five-essential-oil ... ht-cancer/
Essential oils are concentrated liquids that are derived from plants. They carry a distinctive scent of the plant and have been used for a variety of medicinal purposes. Essential oil use has grown in popularity over the past several years.(1)

Essential oils can be diluted in a carrier oil and then applied directly to the skin, inhaled through a compress or diffuser, or used in foods and beverages if essential oil brand is safe for consumption.

Essential oils are most powerful via the blood supply to the brain but have an indirect effect through the olfactory nerve pathways!

Essential oils exert most of their pharmacological effects via the blood supply to the brain. They also have an indirect effect via the olfactory nerve pathways in the brain. The oil fragrances are absorbed through blood circulation and nerve pathways from the sinuses into the brain.(2)

There are many ways that essential oils can support the healing of cancer. Some essential oils act directly on cancer cells, prevent growth and promote cancer death. Other essential oils help with stress relief and emotional support. (3)

Five essential oils that are effective in cancer treatment

Thyme essential oil: A 2010 study from Switzerland evaluated the effect of thyme essential oil on breast cancer cells, lung cancer cells and prostate cancer cells. Thyme essential oil exhibited the strongest cytotoxicity toward all three types of cancer cells. Thyme has an active compound, thymol, which has been shown to activate mechanisms that kill cancer. (3)
Rosemary essential oil: Rosemary has antioxidant properties that help protect agains free radicals that damage cell membranes, alter DNA and kill healthy cells. Recent studies have shown that rosemary extract has anti-tumor properties that are effective in treatment of colon, breast, liver, stomach, skin and blood. One study found that 1 percent concentration of rosemary essential oil was able to deactivate more than 90 percent of ovarian and liver cancer cells. (3)
Oregano essential oil: Research from Long Island University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences found that oregano compounds use signaling pathways that cause “cancer cell suicide.” Oregano also has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Oregano essential oil contains carnosol which has been shown to stop the growth of colon cancer cells as well as cause cancer cell death. Oregano essential oil has shown promising results in fighting prostate, breast and skin cancer.(3)

Chamomile essential oil: In studies, apigenin, a bioactive constituent, found in chamomile has been shown to have significant effects in inhibiting many human cancer cell lines. A 2010 study found that chamomile essential oil killed 93 percent of breast cancer cells. A separate study found that it was able to inhibit cell mutation by 60-75 percent.(3)
Frankincense essential oil: Frankincense oil has been shown to treat numerous health conditions, including cancer. Western studies are now showing that frankincense essential oils and extracts have a potent anti-tumor activity. Frankincense oil was tested against pancreatic cancer cells and was able to cause high levels of cancer cell death. The same effect took place in a separate study on bladder cancer cells. This study found that the essential oil was able to distinguish between cancerous cells and healthy cells, leaving the healthy cells alone. (3)

If you or someone you know is fighting cancer, consider alternative therapies. These oils won’t be recommended by most doctors. Natural compounds cannot be patented, meaning the profit is not the same as in pharmaceutical
