Scientists Identified The Source Of Mysterious Sound From Mariana Trench

The mysterious sound coming from the deepest point of earth, influenced a group of Scientists to figure out the actual source of this sound. This deepest point of the earth is known as Mariana Trench which is 10,994 meters deep from the Sea-level. The creepy sound from that distance which is even 2.5 km longer than the height of Mount Everest made all the scientists think twice.

A group of researchers from Oregon State University started their mission to find out the actual source of the sound, whether its Biological or Geological. With the help of autonomous seafaring robot aka ‘passive acoustic ocean gliders’ they finally able to determine that the sound was produced by Minke whale, a new type of Baleen whale.

Senior faculty & Lead researcher from Oregon State University, Dr. Sharon Nieukirk said in a statement,“It’s very distinct, with all these crazy parts. The low-frequency moaning part is typical of baleen whales, and it’s that kind of twangy sound that makes it really unique. We don’t find many new baleen whale calls.”

According to the report by Tcake, these sounds have a wide range of frequencies, ranges between 38 Hz to 8,000 Hz. These kind sounds have plenty of similarities with the sounds produced by the metallic components of the ships in underwater.

Science Alert report says that the same kind of sound was first recorded between autumn 2014 to spring 2015 in the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument. This is the headquarter (246,000 km^2) of Mariana Trench east of Guam, the largest marine protected areas(2,46,608 Km^2) in the world.

Some researchers also claim that the sound does not seem like to be produced by Geological Activities like Earthquake, nor the sound was produced by any biological creature. One the other side, study authors figured out that the sound has so many similarities with the sound of Baleen Whales, which they produce during their mating season in winter.

However, researchers are still not satisfied with the discovery, they will initiate another research until they find out he exact source of this sound.

BTW, I hardly think that Minkes are "new". Whales have been swimming the world's oceans since before the dawn of man.

This flying object does appear to be unidentified which does I believe qualify it as a UFO. It's a quarter of a mile long and only 40 yards wide. Could a meteor really be built like this ? What could it be ?

Mysterious interstellar object to be scanned for alien tech as it flies through Solar system

A mysterious large object that has come from a different star system is to be examined by one of the world’s biggest telescopes for signs of alien technology.


The Green Bank telescope will examine a mysterious object speeding through our solar system to check for signs of alien signals. The observation begins Wednesday and will be carried out by Breakthrough Listen, a global astronomical program searching for evidence of other civilizations.

The cigar-shaped body was first spotted in the solar system by researchers on the Pan-Starrs telescope in Hawaii in October, Breakthrough Listen reports. Named ‘Oumuamua after the Hawaiian word for “messenger,” it sped from interstellar space going as fast as 196,000 mph (315,000 kph) as it went past the sun.

“'Oumuamua’s presence within our solar system affords Breakthrough Listen an opportunity to reach unprecedented sensitivities to possible artificial transmitters and demonstrate our ability to track nearby, fast-moving objects,” said Andrew Siemion, Director of Berkeley SETI Research Center. “Whether this object turns out to be artificial or natural, it’s a great target for [Breakthrough] Listen.”

“Most likely it is of natural origin, but because it is so peculiar, we would like to check if it has any sign of artificial origin, such as radio emissions,” Avi Loeb, professor of astronomy at Harvard University and an adviser to the Breakthrough Listen project told the Guardian. “If we do detect a signal that appears artificial in origin, we’ll know immediately.”

The telescope, which is located in West Virginia, will listen for radio signals from 'Oumuamua across four different radio transmission bands. The powerful telescope can pick up signals as small as those that come from a mobile phone. 'Oumuamua is located twice as far from Earth as the sun.

The 400 meter-long celestial body is ten times longer than it is wide, and was thought to be an interstellar asteroid by many astronomers, but its shape is unlike anything seen before.

The Breakthrough Listen project was launched by Stephen Hawking in 2015 and is funded by Russian billionaire Yuri Milner. It aims to listen for radio signals coming from potential other civilisations outside our solar system.

Strange "ghost" lights seen over the US city of Milwaukee send social media into frenzy, with many thinking UFO’s are finally here.

The video, which was first uploaded by the Fox 6 News channel, showed strange firelights up in the night sky. The newscaster was surprised and started guessing what these strange moving objects might be.
