Fat people like that should be forced to buy two seats! In fact, I think most airlines do that, don't they?

I think they should, I don't want a seat with someone else half in it the way to my destination.

I watched a Mayday: Air Crash Disaster episode in which a US plane crashed and burned, and fat people were partially to blame!

Here's why: Airlines used an 'average' weight for men and women that was many decades old when calculating tonnage, and had not kept up with people getting fatter... They updated the average weights after that crash.

Plane just couldn't take off properly!

I would think on today's huge airliners it would not matter the weight of the people, small craft I can see it.

It wasn't a full-sized jetliner, but one of those smaller planes that shuttle people around within the US, and doesn't leave the country (I know there's a name for those shorter type flights in those smaller planes, but the name escapes me now!)

When I use to take my dad to the VA there was a vet there who had to have two wheelchairs welded together, and his door cut bigger to get him in the room.
He pretty much lived there till he died, but you couldn't get on the elevator with him, and his nurse because it might weight to much.
Poor guy was huge, Jaba the hut huge.
