I know someone who works for the IJM, International Justice Mission. She told me that their focus is rescuing women from human trafficking for sex slaves. It's terrible.

It's so bad, and nobody seems to know about how much it happens, and it can be next door even, not just some other place.

People just taken, or promised work, and forced into slavery.

I haven't read all of the above, but it looks pretty scary. I'm really despairing of the state of the world right now ... we seem to be getting more and more evil.

I'm not sure we are getting more evil or the fact that we are just more aware and connected to the world around us now. I'd like to think that since we are more aware and connected shining a light on all this vile activity will help put an end to it.

what it is is people are getting to be smarter at hiding it, and as long as the world closes a blind eye to the ones we know of the longer it will go on.
I doubt there will ever be an end to it, the people involved just gets some cushy jail time.

The Saudi's are really bad at that Odinson, I read once that they have people that south, and kidnap 7 kids, and 6 will die making one Eunice.
They outlawed it in the 90s, but it's just kept more quiet now so the west wont complain.

Well like the post a few up the native population seems to be targeted, and I'm sure immigrants are like all over.

This isn't your typical case of slavery, but it's a type of social slavery that happens all over the world thanks to poverty.
It should never happen in the western world.
I remember when I was about 9, and cut tobacco for a poor farmer, it was brutal to the body.
I got sick, and didn't help much after. You would be cut up, and the stuff burned you, and then the worms would bite, and it really burned because they ate the tobacco.
