Exactly... I give ZERO fucks what Brits and our northern neighbors think of our right to own a firearm and that goes for Australians as well...Those authoritarian Aussie scumbags can suck the corn kernels out of my shit. The real problem we face is that there are far too many nanny state types right in the US and they need to be exterminated before they can do more damage. It may sound radical and harsh but society it is rapidly moving towards a point where we will have no alternative but to wage open war on the socialist nanny state movement that is currently plaguing this country. The indoctrination of our youth must be stopped immediately. School is for the expansion of learning and the practice of creating critical thinkers...Not the creation of indoctrinated, overly sensitive, storm troopers for the progressive cause. I've said this before that decades ago, the sinister progressive forces latched on to the idea that by infiltration into the public schools they could achieve their goals in social engineering. We are seeing the fruits of their labor right now. ANTIFA, BLM and the "Cancel Culture" warfare taking place today is the result of radical progressive indoctrination in the schools and anyone that cannot see that is a God cursed fool.

Don't paint us all with the same brush. I won't go into the differences between Commonwealth gun ownership laws between different Commonwealth nations, but the most important thing to understand is that none of us have anything drafted similar to the 2nd Amendment that you have.

It's not that we 'willingly gave it up'... It actually never existed here in the first place.

That said, Canada is still far better than Auzzie and UK rules, at least for now. I can still carry a pocket knife here without breaking any laws...

I realize that Canada's gun laws are not nearly as draconian as they are in the UK and Australia. But with that male underwear model, boy wonder you have for a leader, things are certainly moving in a more draconian direction...That being said, the reason you never had a right to own a firearm goes back to the so called founding of your nation...You never had to fight for your liberty. You just accepted what restrictions the British Crown forced upon you and never even really squeeked in protest. Which is odd considering that Americans and Canadians are a lot alike...I guess our 18th century values and view of our place in the world were very different even back then.

Like I have said in the past when some of you Canadians would get uppity and looked down your noses at us Americans...the 13 American Colonies earned there liberty through blood, fire and sacrifice..while Canada and the rest of the commonwealth countries were granted privileges by groveling for them. That's what used to make the US psyche different and uniquely American. Nowadays with the socialist/progressive indoctrination going on in the US schools, we are in danger of losing our unique liberties. As I said previously, I don't expect you or anyone else who isn't native to the US to get it nor do I care if you do.

I saw both on news standing in lines crying about loosing their guns, their fathers, and grandfathers guns while pointing out how bad our society was.
Then the cowering in their rooms while they got chopped up with knives, and machetes because they had no police, or guns for protection.
Also the criminal must have not got the message not to have a gun, they didn't turn them in.
And in the past like NAZI Germany, the Turks, and Chinese, soon after the government purges.

I'm with you, they can spin on it.

Not generalizing Mel, but use your voice, and to hell with them.

What's interesting with our 'assault rifle' ban here, is that it was implemented on May 1, 2020. So well over a year now, and people haven't heard a thing since. All we were told is that they can't leave our property unless we're moving, and a buyback program is in the works.

That said, the majority of our 'assault rifles' aren't registered, so they don't know who owns what, which makes me believe that most people probably won't turn them in. And unlike the UK or Australia, police in Canada cannot do random searches of gun safes without a warrant.

I guess time will tell what our glorious Supreme Leader Trudeau will end up doing, if anything...

I think there's a bit more to it, but probably most importantly is the fact that our population was, and still is, like 1/10 of the US with a similar land mass. Possibly most back then really didn't have anything to fight for here, as it was very common then for people to move and live freely in either country. I'm guessing this is why the Crown could pretty much do as it pleased here, with little backlash. Not enough people in a mostly cold country to give a shit about what was up, since they could just go live in the US anyhow, and many did.

That said, I wasn't alive back then, so I can't fully understand all the different dynamics that would've occurred at that time. It was a different time, we can all agree.

But the US was smart with the 1st and 2nd amendments, something which pretty much no other nation had claused in. I do wish we had done similar when we had the chance... Imagine a country like the US, but with 90% less Negroes and Beaners! Could've been heaven on Earth!

And I do get the American psyche, Renee. Most Canadians live close to the border, and are no stranger to the strange 'American people' that we speak of. We live like you, look like you, but just have that magical line drawn on the 49th parallel. Don't ever listen to Canadians that attempt to virtue signal... They are no different than your lefties that claim they're 'going to move to Canada if so-and-so happens'... They are full of shit, and usually don't move here, unless they want to get away from Negroes (yes, this is actually a thing here, as the left like all White neighbourhoods, but I can't really blame them). It's really no different. Just left-wing clowns spouting their usual bullshit, which happens on both sides of the border.

There are some differences where Canada leads, but not enough for most to virtue signal...

My guess is that they don't even know what an Assault weapon is, there isn't such a thing really.
An AR isn't one, or is it, a Musket isn't one or is it, they assaulted a lot of people back in the day in assaults on forts, and was part of the military back then.
It's a made up term because it sounds shocking.
Also whats next considered an Assault weapon, a tactical pin ?

The anti-gun folk have done a good job here of brainwashing the masses as to what an 'Assault Rifle' actually is. In my opinion, an assault rifle must be capable of fully-automatic firing. Full automatic guns were banned in Canada in 1977, so unless you owned one then and became Grandfathered in, you won't be owning a full-auto after 1977 here.

Yet somehow over time, almost any semi-automatic rifle has now somehow transformed itself into an 'Assault Rifle'... Even the Mini-14 is now on the shit list here.

Thought you guys might find this interesting. A snip from a recent Supreme Court ruling here in my Province (for the record, the accused was prohibited from possessing any firearms at the time this occurred)...

A lot of good pandering the liberal way, better to have your own gun, and just shot them if you have reason.
Anyway as I always say, better to be in jail than under the ground.

I saw one in the UK similar years back, but with a knife, and the person got stabbed several times.
They lived, but barely.

This is what happens when you play nicey-nice with a scumbag.....

If you find anyone and I mean anyone, rummaging around your house uninvited,....you hold them at gunpoint, force them onto the floor and dial 911. If they do not comply,...shoot the fucker and make sure they are neutralized.

If you cannot manage this then take the next safest course of action....Leave your home and dial 911. I know that abandoning your abode to a criminal crazy may seem like something you don't want to do but it is safer than standing your ground if you don't have the stomach for it.

Canada's worst serial killer, at 49 victims. Fed some of his victims to his pigs. Some of his other victims may have actually entered the human food supply chain, since he was running a working farm.

My Mother performed surveillance on him for a while, and said he was one of the hardest targets to follow she's ever had, since he'd always drive 20 km/h under the speed limit on the highway (while everyone else here tends to drive 10-20 over the limit)...

Yup. He portrayed himself as a dumb simpleton hick farmer to the public as much as he could, a role he managed to successfully pull off for many years.

Many people downtown knew that Willie was merely the dumb one of a crew of killers and this I believe is why he was selected to take the rap.
