A day that will live in infamy...

Saw the movie Midway a couple of weeks ago. I also do a lot of reading on these battles. If one doesn't believe in divine providence, what a different world we would be living in but for the chain of events that unfolded in one crucial battle. But they started it.

Midway was a lot of guessing by both sides, and it was only a lot of luck it went the way it did.
Most the battles in the pacific that had to do with carriers was cat, and mouse, the loss of carriers, and battleships was more than loosing power, and ships, it was loosing national pride.
Just think of a loss of the battleship Yamato, or for the Germans the Bismark in WW1, it changed everything at sea, and home.

Tourist maybe, and I think the airfield is still running just for emergency use.
The Island has been a Wildlife Refuge for a long while now.
I think I read someplace there was about 40 people who lived there .
