Facebook killed most forums, and the likes.
Funny that I wont join Facebook because I don't want to deal with family, and so called past friends.
Here is good, and I appreciate the company even if sparse.

I had a FaceBook account for a while, but disabled it... As you mention, I kinda got tired also reading posts from family and 'friends.' Same repetitive crap got repetitive, but that wasn't the main problem: These days especially, I don't want anything I post online associated with my real name! Scum like Antifa are just looking to dox people... Hell, some dumb bitch was hassling me when I simply stated the opinion that our speed limits are too low in certain areas!

I had one at one time because a friend talked me into it, but it only lasted a week because I hated it, and I didn't use my name either.

I've had one bad experience with my online life that I am still wrestling with from time to time. It was my own fault as I let myself be talked into sharing much more of myself than I ever should have...AND NO Mel, it was NOT interracial porn... I was much younger then and it started out innocent enough but it went bad very rapidly. At the time I was in a place in my life where I wasn't very confident, I was easily manipulated and would do self destructive shit on impulse..Funny thing is, in a weird way, I'm kinda of proud of it but at the same time I put into the catagory of "what the fuck were you thinking?"..
...But it's water under the bridge now and I reconcile it by just chalking it up to life experience.

I had an FB account but I got rid of it over 3 years ago. I used to have an Instagram account as well but that has been neglected for sometime now as well. Both of those accounts were private. I kept it so that only a select few could read them.

I'm actually a loner by nature...Over the years I've become very protective of my privacy, online and off. In real life I have many acquaintances but I keep few friends. Even when RW and that Aussie creep were promoting their Skype meetings, I never attended. The closest I came to a friendship online was with RW. We used to communicate in PM through TBC and when she had her own forum. It wasn't a lot but it was enough that I got comfortable with exchanging a limited amount of personal info. It was a decent experience that moved me out of my usual comfort zone but I don't think I will ever do it again for anyone else. I have my family, and a couple of old friends and right now, that's enough for me.

It's a level of assurance that prevents me from getting too "close" to literal strangers, and I do this on purpose.

I have lost count as to how many "E-Friends" relationships have gone bad over the years... Lisa and Stephen being a prime example of this, but I have seen many more! Glasgo and Gambino's was another classic!

We all want to have close 'friends,' but by nature I keep them at a comfortable distance. By no means does this mean I'm a bad guy... Many posters that treated me like shit in the past, I generally do care about at some certain level... Why I do? I don't know...

I can sum it up as this: If you want to really meet a new friend, ditch your dating sites/apps, and all that other online shit, and just go outside! Meet people in person! Online is just for fun.

Stephen tried but I never fully trusted him enough to entertain his attempts at further than forum contact. I think he got the hint early on and backed off.. Besides he had RW as the prize, and before that he had that chick from Louisiana (I forgot her handle) so what did he need me for beside playing the part of his forum nemesis and punching bag?...Other than that, no one else really bothered to contact me. It's probably because most other posters found me too obnoxious and insulting.. or too intimidating to befriend. The only reason RW and I became friendly was out of long term mutual respect for each other and plus we were working together behind the scenes at TBC as Admin and Mod. That being said I do miss RW terribly and despite my occassional crude comment about her condition, I pray almost daily that she and her family are doing well.

I think she may have felt more connection to Gordy in OZ, than any man here. She was successful in insurance sales, but desired a partner!

He paid for her flight to OZ, bought her a diamond ring, but the cracks immediately appeared. What he was looking for, and what she was looking for, were two very different things.

About two weeks later, the shit started to fly on the board after they 'broke up.' Gordy was sending nasty emails to Glasgow's daughter, the shit was flinging from both sides, it was bad...

Really bad. Gordy was going to fuck her daughter in the ass, Glasgow was going to punish that pig, etc...

The Mods had to step in hard for that one, and Glasgow never re-appeared as far as I know. That was before I was Mod there, so I don't have the inside details.

Galsgow was warned though... Just like we warned Real Woman. She didn't listen.

He is one of the typical power tripping, womanizing, cops. There are a lot of police officers who pull that shit. Growing up I saw evidence of it all the time. As you probably know, cops generally only associate with cops on and off the job. Most of my fathers friends were all members of one police force or another. There was always a cop or two or sherifs dept deputy hanging out at our house, whether it was a weekend barbecue or a holiday gathering. Then their were the policeman balls and PBA picnics that the rank and file are basically required to attend, so growing up I saw and hung out with A LOT of cops and there families. Most of them were decent people but there was always those officers that were the typical uniformed, womanizing, asshole who chronically cheated on their wives or girlfriends. I'm not going to get into all the mental and physical abuse that I witnessed from that type of cop but lets just say it was enough to for me to take my dad's advice and NEVER date or get hooked up with a cop. And to add fuel to the fire there were the women that just naturally gravitated to cops like flies to horseshit. They were know as "holster sniffers" and in general, they were a pretty stupid and emotionally damaged lot....

Stephen is one of those womanizing cheating asshole cops. Those types are very insecure individuals who need to cover that insecurity by dominating any individual they see as weak or vulnerable. Most of them single out women because women are seen as easy prey and their success with the ladies provides the ego boost that helps sooth their insecurity.. Unfortunately many of these predator types are very charming and seem like good people on the surface. They are capable of fooling the average woman relatively easily. Only after things go bad does the victim start to realize what they are truely dealing with. Cops and ex-cops like Stephen exhibit all the classic narcissistic traits of the classic sociopath because thats exactly what they are and they are dangerous.

People like that Aussie dickhead go through life ruining lives and causing emotional chaos and never even think twice about it. In fact they will go to great lengths to defend or rationalize their actions and will use any means necessary to justify what they have done. They are devious and manipulative and will even go so far as to turn the tables and play the victim, which is one of their favorite ploys. He did exactly that with Lia and he tried to do it with me. He tried to make RW think that she was bipolar and that she was mentally unbalanced. He had her so convinced of her mental illness that she even sought professional psychotherapy only to find out that none of what Stephen was telling her was accurate (no fucking shit). He tried to play the victim with me because I supported Lia and suggested that she break away from him. Apparently my support for a friend in distress was seen by him as a knife in his back. Where he had the nerve to come off with that is anybody guess because I never considered him a friend nor did I owe him any kind of fucking loyalty whatsoever. He was so hostile and antagonistic about it and so set on smearing me as a two faced pos that he literally drove me off TBC. I simply did not want to deal with his crazy bullshit. His attacks on me were vicious and incessant and I had no patience and time for it.

It still blows my mind that someone would need a warning about the perils of getting personally involved with an ex-con, pig faced, piece of shit half a world away.

If that's true and for some reason she will not engage, it makes me think that she might be in a pretty bad way health wise. I know she told me that her disease was affecting her in more ways that just pain and physical limitations. She said she was no longer as mentally sharp as she once was and that bothered her probably more than anything else.

My biggest fear for her is that this once very bright, witty, gregarious and highly intelligent woman has fallen into mental decay and is no longer the person I once knew, respected and loved. If she is losing even small bits of her cognitive ability, that would be frustrating to the point of being almost unbearable for a person like RW. I really hope that is not the case.
