The problem is, many of them don't want to move out. They like living with no responsibility, having mommy do their laundry, feed them and coddle them while letting them game and blog the days away.... They have to save all their energy for maintaining their mental health....Fucking weak ass wastes of space that they are.....

At work I got a kick out of the Arts, and craft degree people that thought they where oh so much better than everyone else

Today too many people have a life ambition of a garden snail....I don't know how it is in your neck of the woods, but far too many young people today in the US want to be things like internet bloggers and professional gamers. While they are in college they pursue majors like journalism, anthropology and psychology and then they wonder why they cannot get a job or pay off their student debt....

When I went to college, my parents told me that eventhough I had an athletic scholarship, I better not fuck around. I was told that college was not a vacation from reality and that I better pick something useful to study so that when I graduated, I could make a living and support myself....I only half listened...

How hard it is to get a scholarship in the USA?

Getting a scholarship to college in the US is a mixed bag. The difficulty varies depending on what you are applying for.

I can tell you that full ride athletic scholarships where you pay nothing are very, very, rare. You have to be a super athlete and have exceptional grades...Getting one is like hitting the lottery. Furthermore they are only offered as head count scholarships to certain Division I sports, where you have a chance at going pro at the end of your college career...Girls Softball is not one of them.

I was scouted and got a partial equivalency athletic scholarship from the school. It was player position based and it paid MOST but not all of my tuition. I then got additional scholarship money in smaller amounts from organizations like the PBA and the VFW. I qualified for those by having good grades and because my dad was a police officer and a military veteran.

Back when I went to school my total tuition over 4 years should have cost me in the neighborhood 55 to 60 thousand dollars. I think when it was all said and done, my out of pocket tuition cost which included books and housing was just under 8 grand.

There is a lot of scholarship money out there if you know where to look. Much of it goes unrewarded because it is in small amounts and people overlook the opportunity. Your best bet is to hook up with a post secondary financial councilor. They can help guide you through all the ins and outs of college financial nightmare.
