Hair spray, spray deodorant... They are usually flammable.Blue Frost wrote: ↑December 27th, 2019, 1:16 pm I don't keep gas in the house either

And the obvious... You already have live ammunition stored in your house.

Ammo is enough, I wont put black powder down here especially since it's not as contained as ammo.
I don't use hairspray, or deodorant, I don't sweat I'm so cool.

The ammo is far more dangerous because the powder is "contained"..Blue Frost wrote: ↑December 27th, 2019, 7:46 pm Ammo is enough, I wont put black powder down here especially since it's not as contained as ammo.

Black powder just burns and sizzles... It doesnt explode..
And its shock proof... So if you drop the container, it doesnt go off..

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
My ammo is contained, and contained again in ammo boxes.
I am looking for another box thick enough to contain any thing happening in case a fire though.
I would put it all in the garage, but moisture would ruin the ammo just like the powder.

Actually deodorant made me stink, and my girlfriends always noticed I didn't have much of any smell.
I have very small skin pores, and very dry skin so no sweating even in the hot sun.

Burning ammo isn't as dangerous as people may think. A pile of open ammo set on fire won't even penetrate a thicker piece of drywall!Blue Frost wrote: ↑December 30th, 2019, 7:40 pm My ammo is contained, and contained again in ammo boxes.

Some does, I have seen it first hand go off. A lot may fizzle out, but some if backed into something say a rock will shoot off like out of a short pistol.
It may not have the power of a full sized gun, and may not fly accurate, but can kill.

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
It won't actually... The case will rupture before high enough pressures can be generated to actually launch a bullet lethally. Even SAAMI has tested this, as an aid to what firefighters can expect when dealing with ammo in a fire.
A buddy and me tested this out also years ago, buy clamping various ammo horizontally in a vice, and then igniting the primer. The case will rupture every time, and although you wouldn't want to be standing in front of it, it wouldn't generally be lethal, except to perhaps your eyeballs if you caught the bullet or shrapnel from the case in them! Wear goggles when doing what we did! We didn't, but we should have! Everything we tested bounced off the plywood wall in his garage...

That said, when we were testing shotgun shells, one of the shot pellets did manage to bounce off the plywood back to us and did hit one of his knuckles with enough force to draw a slight bit of blood!

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
Where did my post go from early this morning ???
The SAAMI test where done with open bullets in a fire, not packed in boxes, and in cans.
Some in cans can even explode, and with bullets packed together there isn't a lot of expansion. Also those left in guns in a fire can kill anyone near because they have all the pressure, barrel length.
Most fizzle in a pack, or out, but some go off maybe without all the force, but some will penetrate.

I am now trying to find this gun for sale at a reasonable rate, most places is out of stock.
It's a CZ Shadow two with an accu bushing system.

Bloomberg is an idiot...a rich idiot; a dangerous idiot; who like so many of his ilk think that personal wealth gives them the right to spew and force their uninformed, agenda driven, POV on the general public.

I've read good things about the accu bushing system. The performance of the CZ is much improved with groups up to 30% tighter than with the previous bushings...Blue Frost wrote: ↑January 5th, 2020, 8:30 pm I am now trying to find this gun for sale at a reasonable rate, most places is out of stock.

That's a welcome change.
I unfortunately have an old CZ75, about 40 years old. I've had to replace the extractor spring, recoil spring, and trigger springs multiple times. It's finicky with mags and its reliability and accuracy still pales in comparison to my Hi-power. I'm not dumping anymore coin into it. It is what it is.
It's a nice handling weapon and fits my hand better than any 1911 but I would never willingly stake my life on it, if given the choice. Plus it's a "9" and you know how I feel about that ghetto flash caliber.

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
My friend had an old CZ75, and never had an issue with it except the blueing he had re done because it was a surplus weapon.
It's smooth as glass in my opinion, and I think he will be buried with it.
I like CZ products even though I don't own one, and the Jericho the Israelis use is a CZ 75 so I'm not the only one.
That one I'm looking at is a $2000 gun, very expensive, but it's a gun built to precision for precision that you would pay dearly to build yourself.
I'm really not worthy anymore to own a gun like that since I can't see good as I used to, but maybe the gun will make up a lot for that.

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
I know that CZs are great weapons....I'm just one of the unlucky ones that got an early bad one. I bought it used back in the early 90s. It was probably imported in this country in the 70s. Since I replaced the springs there is nothing too terribly wrong with it. It just has too many failures to feed;...like 1 or 2 per every 200 rounds and it doesn't seem to matter what ammo or what mags I use, although the earlier produced mags work better. The other thing that bothers me is that the earlier models have a track record of breaking their slide stop. In fact I've seen it happen. You can argue that the 1911 has the same inherent problem but I've never seen it happen or know anyone that has experienced it.Blue Frost wrote: ↑January 6th, 2020, 1:31 pm My friend had an old CZ75, and never had an issue with it except the blueing he had re done because it was a surplus weapon.

At one time I thought that I would have a duty style service done on it (trigger job, throat polish, etc) and use it for IDPA but why bother when I have a custom .40 Hi-power that operates flawlessly? Maybe one day I'll have it worked over but for now it's taking a back seat to a few other projects.

Re: ..Guns Guns & More Guns
Maybe the mags isn't fitting right, and the ramp does need work, something has to be off on it.
I would bet whoever owned it before put it through the ringer, or like you said got one of the bad ones.
Most brands have some bad ones out there, I have a few, and had some myself.
I had a 92f Beretta brand new, and it was bad, USA made.
I called them, and they had the nerve to say it was me, I was likely limp wristing it.
I told them that was uncalled for, and my Italian Beretta works fine, and all my other guns.
The barrel was oval, and leaving blow back on the casings, a gunsmith pointed it out to me, but I sold it, and wont buy another American Beretta.
I wont buy one because the A-holes I talked with in their service department.
