Addiction

Post: # 181885Unread post Blue Frost »

So, anyone have a bad addiction on here besides porn ?
Mine is sugar, especially good chocolate.
Well I'm trying hard to cut back, but with my mother, some family, and family friends I keep being sabotaged.
They say I don't have to eat it all at once, just a piece a day, or you can share it  are they delusional or something :kez:

Well trying to quit, it's so hard to do, and I'm pretty strong in the willpower department.

So, whats your nemesis making you a junkie ?

Alright, time without chocolate lasted about an hour, and twenty minutes, that was a long one.
Maybe I can make it two hours this time :teehe:

Blue, maybe all that chocolate is what is giving you your headaches.

Food in general, especially carbs are my problem. Pizza is an addiction (NOT THAT PINEAPPLE SHIT) as is pasta and dairy. If I eat that kind of stuff, I expand...exponentially.... ...I can't allow that anymore or I'll end up on "My 600lb Life" with that little, squinty, Iranian ghoul calling me a "fat bastard"....

So the trick is to either not eat or eat only vegetables and measured amount of protein. Since it's not realistic to "not eat" I make due with vegies, fish, tofu, and yogurt. I simply streamlined my diet and so far it has been working. In the past 3 years I've lost 70 lbs and have kept it off.

I also work out regularly. I run at least 4 miles a day and weight train 4 days a week. It's a given that I'm never going to be skinny, my genetics won't allow for it unless I contract some terminal wasting disease. But I've also learned that I don't have to give in to what is bad for me either. I don't have to be a beached whale because I do have some common sense control over it.

LOL, the chocolate seems to help sometimes, but maybe all the sugar isn't being it's making me more heavy.
My neck, back, and shoulder muscles along with spasms is whats causing headaches, and migraines.
My mom loves giving me bread at every meal also which don't help since it turns to sugars.
I insist I don't want the stuff, but there it is, and for me to eat it it needs a lot of butter.

I lost a lot a year, or so back by cutting way back on the stuff, everyone thought I looked great, but that worried my mom  so she started killing me again with junk, and stuff I didn't want.
Ill likely have to hurt her feelings, or make her mad so she stops for a while.

Me loosing it I didn't do without, I just changed what i was eating for better stuff not so fattening.
Cutting out Chocolate milk in the morning I lost 5 lbs in about a week alone.

Something in my guts really fights against chocolate..
I cant eat more than a couple of rows out of a chocolate slab and I start feeling sweaty and iffy.

Its not lactose intolerance because I drink about two litres of milk on meals and nothing... Plus I like my cheese..

The trick is to match your food intake with your energy consumption..

I eat dairy, pasta etc.. Not that much pizza but I do eat pies and stuff.
But I dont get fat.

Once you have put your metabolism to the right gear, it gets harder to get fat.

That's exactly it. It really is quite simple: If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. It's fairly easy to calculate what any given activity will require calorie wise, at least ballpark figure, and it's also fairly easy to figure out how many calories you consume daily also. Pretty much any food or beverage item has this listed on it.

300 pounds is only like 135-140 kilos... A man of my height with a little muscle weights that easily.
Granted I dont possess the slick italian swimmer body type to which you are so accustomed to due to your ethnic background.. :teehe:

Finns are usually a lot bigger than italians... Bigger overall..
Its a genetic thing.

My advice is probably as good as you're going to get, as I know how the World works for some people. I know not everyone has it quite as easy as others do. I wish I was one of them.

Myself often drinking to excess is really no different at all from people eating to excess. The outcome is generally slightly different, but the end result is often the same: Not good.

We do things because we like to do those things... It is the human nature. Unfortunately some people like to do things that aren't good for them.

I have recognized the fact that my life, and lifestyle, may lead to a not-so-happy ending. I have recognized this many years ago.

You have kids and family, Renee, so you have a goal to reach for not only for yourself, but for them also!

You see, I don't have that, and it can become very difficult to find motivation at times, when one has no reason to motivate.

I know what's up.

My parents bought me a super sized chocolate bar back when I was about 5 years old, we where out shopping one day.
Well I ate the whole thing, and got sick, but that was the last time I got sick on chocolate, it seems I got immune so I can eat about all I want of the stuff.
Yesterday I ate the equivalent of two regular sized bars

Have you ever been diagnosed with clinical depression? Because you show all the hallmarks of being depressed. Maybe that's why you drink.

As you say, drinking to excess is no different than eating to excess and one of the prime reasons people overeat is for emotional support. I know when I get depressed or stressed, the first thing I want to do is run to the refrigerator. I did that all my life. I used food as an emotional crutch. But now I know food is NOT the answer regardless of how good it makes me feel. It's only a short term high that doesn't solve problems, it just compounds them.

I'm sure you think getting polluted is a stress relief but it's really not. Once you sober up, the factors that cause stress in your life are still there. They didn't go away and now you have wet sheets and a pounding head on top of it.

I thought he was skinny, that's was the surprising part.
I'm about 6 foot tall, and 220, 34 waist, and 48 chest, so not so fat as much as wide chest. I also gain the hard type of fat which is worse than the flabby peoples.

I think to be 300 lbs you would need to be working out 10 hours a day in the gym, or be 8 foot tall not to be fat.
