Mel's hole

I do believe that Mel mentioned that his place seemed like a bottomless pit (moneywise), but this is in Washington State.

Now that explains his forum, and the gay parade over there. :teehe:

Mel's hole exists. I have proof, since this shithole will most likely leave me bankrupt, homeless, and destitute...

Oh yes, it does exist!

Mel likes to cry more than any woman I've ever encountered....Mostly because he makes bad decisions.

Sometimes I think it's done purposely for the negative attention he craves. :kez:

Hey, it's still attention right, you can beat on him all day, and he will like it, and come back for more :)
Sometimes that's not all bad, he can take the abuse, and still keeps kicking.

Mel demands perfection, which is hard for someone with OCD, ADHD, and whatever other shit I'm inflicted with...

Two coats of primer, with Bright White Eggshell (If it ain't White, it ain't right) as the third topcoat...

I cry, because the amount of work I have to do here is overwhelming, to bring everything up to my standards.

I may have to add a fourth coat of paint to my pantry, but I'm not sure yet...

You paint your fucking house four times, do the floors, the kitchen, appliances... You fucking do that properly, and come back to me and tell me I'm crying...

Renee is most def a skid row bum, living a skid row lifestyle...

And for the record, the light pull-cord and chain is brand new... I don't settle for any less.

Oh yeah, this one small space alone required much spackling also... It was shit with fucking holes everywhere, just like every other room in this dump...

Now, you can eat off of any surface in there...

Pull chain... 4 coats of cheap white paint... :kez:

Mel's idea of perfection;....a painted pantry closet with a NEW pull chain,...Crap right out of the 1960s..... Are things really that far behind the times in Canuckistan?...

You should worry more about the shelves in the pantry being strong enough to hold all your bottles of cheap vodka. Maybe buy the plastic bottles just in case of collapse.....

Mel you are nothing more than a narcissistic little worm looking for attention. That's all you are and it looks like that's all you will ever be....So for the billionth time;.....Grow the fuck up and stop blubbering.

So where are we?.....Oh Yeah,... boo hoo....Mel had to dump money and effort into an aging house...."Oh the humanities"....

And yes, you have a track record of making shitty decisions .... Face it and STFU.... But relax,...the house isn't one of them. It will end up being a financial and emotional investment that will far exceed that glorified, three room, apartment in zip city where you came from....

So again,...just STFU, and put your big boy pants on. Maybe you need to take a break from the house....Maybe you need to get your ass back to work, mindlessly hauling dirt for a while.

In some ways I can feel Mel's pain. I have worked in the maintenance industry for a number of years now, and for whatever reason, the odds are that you will have to deal with somebody else's stupidity, laziness, carelessness, ignorance, or just plain being cheap. If you watch any of the plethora of shows on HGTV, inevitably there will be some unexpected problems that crop up during the makeover reno's. Usually something like extreme water damage or ants or both. That being said, one should realize that when you buy a house, there will be work involved.

Been fixing stuff all my life, and if not my own mess as a kid, my fathers.
He did the cheapest he could do, and as long as it worked he was happy with it.
I have to almost cry, and laugh at the same time when looking at it.

As for others messes, I fixed a lot also, and some people should have never made the effort they did stuff so badly.
I always give people inspiration to try, but that can be a mistake also.

Prelived in houses, bought at bargin prices, ALWAYS have work to be done....Therein is a reason why they sell for less than there top market value.

Its a matter of course that most people do not fix or renovate things exactly the way YOU would do them or like them done. You have to expect renovations on any property that is over a certain age, even if it is just a refresh to keep the style current. The fact is, some people don't give a shit if there house is up to date or not, as long as it's functional. And some people simply do not have the money to invest in their home....So you the buyer have to be aware make an informed decision.

When buying a property you have to keep your eyes open and understand what you are getting into. Very rarely are things as they seem. But the kind of shit Mel is bitching about...flooring, appliances, kitchen cabinets, countertops, lighting, paint, bad tape and spackle,.. etc are all cosmetic items that are readily apparent, which may or may not be in need of replacing. Its the hidden shit that bites you...insect and or animal damage,... water damage,...structural issues,....etc.

I know Renee, I inspected quite a few houses for people over the years, and saw some pretty nasty stuff people where trying to get rid of.
Cosmetic stuff cost money, but like you mentioned water, and structural is two big ones, even more than a roof in most cases.
Plumbing, and electrical is more that can be big.

Things that don't keep you from living, and can just have a paint job, and some mud is not a bad thing.

I have to gut both bathtub/shower stalls... Assuming there were no leaks, I'm expecting up to a $20,000 bill for those. I'm already in $25,000.

I had no idea a 25 year old house would require $100,000 worth of work right off the bat.

That said, it was my fault for buying a used house. It is a mistake I will never make again. Unfortunately I am stuck with it now, since I can never recoup my costs until everything is done to high grade.

You should have had a good inspector go over the property, even in a new house you can find major stuff wrong with them.
Sorry you have to go through that mess of fixing stuff like that, i know it's a pain in more than one way.

And Renee? When the dishwasher was draining its water all over the kitchen floor, I can assure you that ALL the appliances needed to go to the scrap heap, and they did.
