I live in Surrey, but close enough I guess, I work in Vancouver.

I always wanted to visit there in Vancouver, I think it would be great to live so close to the mountains, and sea.

Naw, I was born in Alberta, and grew up in Kitimat, where they want to run the Northern Gateway pipeline to. I understand they got pretty shaken up there when that earthquake happened on Saturday.

Hi Shar. I responded to this question soon after you posted it, but then I had to log off and my response didn't register...so, I'll try again. I was born in Mayerthorpe, just northwest of Edmonton where you will find the fallen four memorial, dedicated to those mounties that were shot, and we lived in Whitecourt. We moved to Kitimat when I was 6, and that's where I grew up. If you go just south of Edmonton, there is a little town there called Wetaskiwin, where one of my distant cousins built a fabulous museum called the Reynolds museum.

Hey, I recognize all of those places! I lived North of High Prairie for a while, then in Slave Lake with a bit of time spent in Peace River. I'm very familiar with Mayerthorpe, although I haven't been there since the mountie massacre so I haven't seen the memorial.

Do you still have family and friends in Kitimat? They must have felt the earthquake last week ...
