The Leopard, Jaguar, panther, or what ever someone wants to call is my favorite cat.
They are solitary, very adaptable, and just a cool cat :)
Of course I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advise, and a good conversation.

Leopards and jaguars are two completely different cats.

They are sub species in the same group, but I like them :) The leopard is just a little smaller than the Jaguar.

Here is from WIKI :) Both leopards and jaguars that are melanistic are known as black panthers.
WIki isn't always right though.

That is true, panthers are not a real species. Jaguars have larger rosettes while leopards are more spotted.

Well still love them both, or all three :) I think the Puma, then the Tiger are my next favorites, but then again the Ocelot id pretty cool but not a large cat .

I'm not that big a fan of the lions unless it's the females, the males are nice looking but brutes .
The other cats like the Jaguar are more cunning, and self sufficient I believe.

An Okotoks homeowner discovered they had a wild predator parked in their garage.

The resident found themselves face-to-face with a cougar Saturday after opening the garage door.

Mounties said the mountain cat wandered into the garage Friday and was locked in overnight.

The cougar fled into a nearby green space after being freed.

Poor thing must have been panicked with all that noise, and I'm sure glad a kid didn't go in there, or anyone else.
WOW, that could have been tragic.

Hi XJ :snug: happy Sunday

Actually I am near certain that they are very different animals and the jaguar is not a subspecies of leopards much as the yellow spotted leopard cat of Borneo is not a leopard either but just has similar markings. The Jaguar has extremely powerful jaws and have short legs for it's size. The Jaguars bright yellow fur is really spectacular. Snow leopards and clouded leopards may be the most beutiful of wild cats I think. Some scientists believe that the clouded leopard is related to the pre ice-age sabertooths

sabertooth's hits a wide variety of cat also if you didn't know, maybe you mean Smilodon. :spit: or more likely Hoplophoneus for the Jaguar. :)
The megafauna are so cool of that time :) and here we even had an American lion

Yes the leopard is smaller, both similar but different, and both beautiful. :)

This is yet another example of how stupid we have gotten with our massive amount of stupid laws. Leave these guys alone for @#$% sakes ! There is a stupid law about everything. I went out this morning to see if my grey seagull remembered me and sure enough he was out there waiting for me to feed him by hand. He hasn't seen me since February 29 and I couldn't believe he still remembered me. He has lost alot of the gray but his head and wings are still grey. I know it is him because only he [ or quite possibly she ] sits there waiting for me and some security guard came over and said "no feeding the pigeons! there's a sign right there" Well I am going too go back tomorow and feed my seagull and say that I am not feeding the pigeons and I am only feeding my seagull. The pigeons are thieves and he should arrest them !

Poor cat, and I feel sorry for the family. It needs a home after it's been de clawed, and snipped.
I see a danger though, but I don't see it killing anyone .
