So many Russian people live there, but you can say the same for parts of Poland, and surrounding areas. They don't own Poland now do they ? Maybe fight the Germans for it again.
Ukraine started hinting that they want NATO..
Russians cant have NATO messing around their fleet.
When you think about things and take the anti-Russia goggles off, you notice that annexing Crimea was the right call.
Are you retarded?...Annexing a sovereign nation through military force is NEVER the right call. It's not ethical and its immoral. I dont care if the invading nation once owned the annexed nation for hundreds of years. If you think THAT is a valid reason for a hostile take over of another country, then maybe we should just let the Greeks restore Alexander's Empire because it makes the same amount of sense.
Russia is a rogue nation. Their government's view of the world and foreign relations isn't that much different than it was during Stalin's reign. At least when the US wants to expand its influence and national interests, we dont use old fashion strong arm colonialism as the "go to" move. Nowadays we use this nation building crap to create nations and regimes friendly to the US. It's not perfect, it's costly and it sometimes backfires but at least it has keep Russia bottled up since the end of WWII. If the fucking communists had their way this world would be like hell on earth, in work boots an wool underwear for anyone not working directly for the politburo.
The truth is that Trump bungled his first meeting with Putin. He could have handled it like Reagan when he smiled right in Gorbachev's face and very politely said "Look blotch head...it ain't happening on my watch". But no, Trunp just did his little orange TV act and looked weak. Unfortunately there has been a long line of weak US presidents when it comes to Russia, starting with Clinton. Each one weaker than the one before. The Russians understand strength and a no bullshit attitude and nothing else.
Trumps conciliatory bullshit will just embolden those scumbags in the Kremlin even more and worse yet, his failure to tell Putin to fuck off will cost the GOP any success they were hoping for in the midterms and it will add a bunch more false fuel to the Mueller investigation.
You dont seem to understand the situation.. Crimea has strategic importance to Russia and NATO tried to poke around.
America would have launched her nukes for that kind of shit...
Russia smoothly took over.. Not much of a bloodshed.
Last time I checked, america wasnt too happy about Russias influence so close to the american soil.. Cuba..
The russian backed regime was removed in Ukraine.. They had to move in..
America would have done the same.
Trumps mistake was that he took back what he said.. Made him look weaker.
