Renee you beat me to it
Being a female I can see why he is so excited about it.
Hell give it welfare, and low cost housing, it's a migrant.

I don't like walruses..... They scare me, just like skunk apes.
We had a great white off our shores again this summer and there has been about 4 sighted off the coast of Cape Cod this month.
Walruses are very large and they seem to be very dangerous too.
The problem is that when these guys come to the Baltic sea, they are trapped and they will die here.
This individual was seen in Norway, Germany and Latvia too and the Latvians are saying that its fatter now... So it has eaten something.
Our authorities are saying that they will take some kind of action if it looks like it is not finding food and is dying.
Somehow escorting it out might be an option.
Capturing it and transporting it to the Atlantic is another.
I thought great white sharks are something seen in the tropical areas.

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
Hello peoples, i hope the weekend was nice for you, and you had some fun.
I had a pretty rough time the last two days, but got a little done, I got a month before surgery so I need things done up so I don't have to worry about it.
Not much going on right now, just ate some salmon for breakfast, and Ill try to do a little in a bit I guess.
So, anything new going on, fun, food, or happy time with a walrus

Great Whites like colder water but not too cold. They travel up the east coast following the colder water in the gulf stream in the spring and early summer. We get our share of Tigers and Bull sharks too... Makos are comon all year round and they are the closest shark relative to the Great White. Great Whites travel up the west coast as well. Most Great White attacks in the US have happened off the coast of Northern California. Apparently they like the taste of dumbass liberal surfers...Odinson wrote: ↑July 15th, 2022, 7:05 pmI did not see that joke coming.Renee wrote: ↑July 15th, 2022, 6:31 pmWow, was it female?... It had crawled 150 meters from the nearest water into the woods.
The authorities sedated her and tried to move her to the Zoos animal hospital but she died on the way there.
Signs of malnutrition and poor health... Not enough food.
Advanced age might have caused her to come here in the first place.

Damn Odi, that didn't take long.
Poor creature.

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
well been rough here last few days, but a bit better for the moment, I hope all of you are good.
I never did clean that bathroom, maybe I can today.
Had someone over last evening after I could get up, they said the place was spotless why do should I clean.
I see it, maybe they don't.
Well anything good going on ?
Anyone see RF lately, I miss him peeking in.

The Norwegians are saying that we should have acted sooner.
The cops were preventing crowds from going too near but the animal is still gonna be highly stressed about the crowd nearby.
Should have fed it..
Should have captured it before it became too weak for sedation.
There's very little chance that it could navigate out of the Baltic sea on its own.

Yeah some agency should have tried feeding it, but that takes a lot of food for one.
I guess it was just it's time if it was old.
Still Something should have been done different, people can try at least sooner than later.
A lot of times that sedation kills them because they are weak, seem it done in hospitals a few times in my life on people.

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
Happy Saturday peoples still alive here, had to take a day off the internet because of migraines, and breathing issues.
Yesterday I needed to go to the emergency room, but dwelt with it myself eating Halls caughdrops, and cold water it helps.
Well hows it going for you, anything good going on ?
Hows the heat or lack of, I think we got it all being it's going to be maybe 110 here.
I need a deeper basement I can hang out in.

Geez Blue. The Emergency ward? Better start looking after what's left of you. I also have problems breathing sometimes, I carry the halls to work and keep some at home too. I think I did bad things to my lungs what with all the dust and chemical vapours I end up breathing in, I have developed a chronic cough, (and I don't even smoke). My kids used to get nervous whenever we went out to eat somewhere that they would think I was spreading Covid.
Temperature wise, it's been relatively cool up to now, but we are expecting a heat wave starting today and lasting all week. I put in air-con in 2 of our upstairs bedrooms, with a third one to be installed soon. The only problem is that my place was wired badly and all 3 bedrooms share the same breaker, and also it's aluminum wiring. So, we have to take turns running them to keep the breaker from tripping.

I know it's a little late to hear this, but if you're at three separate A/C's now, you might have been better off looking into a mini-split A/C system to feed those rooms cool air.beanthere wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2022, 11:02 pm Geez Blue. But ya, aluminum wiring should've never been allowed... I bet your house is a 1970's build. My parents house was too, and eventually over time they had the shit re-wired to copper.
Older homes simply weren't built with the expectation that you'd be pulling 1,500 Watts from multiple interior wall sockets at the same time... A mini-split wired into the mains professionally may solve that problem.

Things are good! Temps hovering around 80 to 85 here. I hope your health can be regained to normalcy... I have an older work acquaintance that I keep in contact with, and he's now having a bunch of problems arise in a relatively short time, due to health issues. He's not even obese, but a little heavy, and he's now having problems with health...Blue Frost wrote: ↑July 23rd, 2022, 1:51 pm Happy Saturday peoples still alive here, had to take a day off the internet because of migraines, and breathing issues.

Myself? Finally got a good deal on some firewood! I KNOW you don't want to hear about heat right now, but this is gonna be burned next winter, and shall keep me warm!

LOL, Mels got wood.
Is that ceder, ceder will burn fast, and might gum up the pipes faster, good for whittling though.
Not a lot of choices in wood there is there ?

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
We have many choices of wood in this particular region of Canada! In fact, more species grow here in this region than anywhere else in Canada. You name it, we have it here... Fir, Pine, Larch, Cedar, Birch, and a bunch of others. And it is ALL around here!Blue Frost wrote: ↑July 27th, 2022, 6:52 am LOL, Mels got wood.

This load is probably mostly cedar, but I'll assume some other shit is mixed in there. All wood here is good to burn, provided it is seasoned. This load is mostly seasoned, but it certainly will be good to go come winter! I have a moisture meter and can test, but this stuff will be fine (you learn over time how much a piece of particular wood weighs wet, as opposed to seasoned/dry weight, when you pick it up with your hand).
Type of wood is far less important than moisture content... It simply needs to be as dry as can be! I'll only burn wood containing less than 20% moisture content. This solves most potential chimney problems.

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
I used to be able like you just picking up the wood, and seeing it even, but Cedar burns fast, and hardly useful other than starter wood.
Hard woods are better for long fires as you likely know.
I have seen piles of ceder like that only lasting a few days in cold times.

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
It does, but newer 'efficient burning' stoves like mine require less wood to produce reliable heat! It's lined inside with concrete blocks, and the burn chamber is smaller than older stoves, so the burn is condensed... Lowest air flow setting will let a couple of logs burn for over an hour... Probably more!Blue Frost wrote: ↑July 28th, 2022, 4:30 am I used to be able like you just picking up the wood, and seeing it even, but Cedar burns fast, and hardly useful other than starter wood.

If it flames out before I go to bed, it's still warm in the morning!
It will get HOT! And chimneys should get inspected/cleaned regardless of the wood burned, since all wood burning can create creosote/soot fire hazards over time, but that's not a big deal either...
As long as it's seasoned (dry), I will burn it all with confidence!
But ya, hardwood is best, but that's not always around for a good price!

Re: Hello :-) ... Hows Life ?
How about the smell from the ceder, is it strong when burning, it is toxic by the way, but at least any bugs will run from it.
i used to cut firewood for people long ago, maple mostly, and some oak.
cut into some hedgiron once, that stopped real fast with the sparks coming off the blade, and the stink of the wood.
