How much would you have to make annually in New Jersey to be able to afford a normal moderate life and maybe have something to put in your savings account?

So that you can afford the medical insurance, paying off loan and you can put your 2 kids to school..

Well NJ. Is one of the most expensive states in the US to live in, so the money required to live here is going to be much higher than the national average. Also salaries are higher here and high paying jobs are more plentiful due to our proximity to NYC.

Living a "normal moderate" life means different things to different people, so I can't really answer your question accurately.

But I can tell you that the average median family income in this state is a little over $80,000 a year. If you are careful and are proactive with money management, a family of 3 or 4 can survive on that. You won't be rolling in doe but you can live okay if you are careful. But depending on your bills (mortgage, taxes, utilities, basic living expenses) that can leave you almost nothing extra each month so saving money is difficult.

Here if you want the frills in life...you have to step it up to $100,000 a year of or better. That usually means two incomes per household.

I would think if you went to court with that sticker on your car after hitting protesters you would be thrown under the jail.
