Italy has the biggest coronavirus outbreak outside China, with more than 800 dead and more than 12,000 COVID-19 infections. The whole nation is under stringent travel restrictions. There have now been more than 120,000 cases worldwide, and more than 4,300 people have died.

Italy’s government has ordered all shops, bars and restaurants across the country to close after the country’s death toll from the coronavirus outbreak rose by 31% in the space of 24 hours to a total of 827.

So today, along with the "Tom Hanks news", this has been a big day.
Trump has suspended all flights from Europe.
The WHO has officially declared this to be a pandemic.
All NBA games are to be suspended until furthur notice.
My main concern is for my mother. Two weeks ago we brought her to the hospital because of a mild stroke. She recovered fairly quickly, and we brought her back home a week ago. She absolutely hated the hospital and in her confused state wondered why she was even there. Now that she is comfortably ensconced at home, (my sisters place), I don't think she could handle the stress of going back.

It was a pandemic long before the WHO got off its ass and declared it.

This is serious right now, especially for the very elderly. My concern is not so much the virus as the panic. Also the pirating and profiteering of things like toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer is a real problem. I'm hearing reports of people selling things like antibacterial soap for hundreds of dollars over their normal retail price...People taking advantage of this fear and panic for their own financial gain should be hunted down and killed with extreme prejudice.

Now the NHL has cancelled their season. Justin Trudeau's wife may have it. So for now at least, our wonderful prime minister is in self isolation.
I'm at home right now feeling sick. It seems to be a gastrointestinal thing and COVID19 is primarily a respiratory problem but I'm still nervous. The last thing I need is to be out of circulation for 2 weeks. All this happens because some dimwit wants to eat an animal that hasn't been properly farmed and is weird to begin with.

Love the panic room. I'm betting these people are going to try to sell their stockpile online at inflated prices. Either that or they're just idiots.
One other aspect to this picture is the place next to their house seems to be a commercial building so maybe this is how they recieve and store shipments.

Been some here selling hand sanitizer in the Walmart parking lot, and other things. out of trunks of cars.

Our country's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in isolation after his own wife was tested positive for the coronavirus . As of this morning 7 new cases here in BC bringing it to 53.

Only 40 people in the United States have died from the virus. Mostly older people. Death count is now 1,000 in Italy. Looks like they have 100 people die from the virus daily.

If this thing goes on I think 10 million people in Canada and United States could be infected. Maybe 500 deaths from the virus daily in North America.

A little perspective... This is the reality of this out break as of 3/9/20. Granted, the situation is fluid BUT we are no where near panic stage yet. Precautions and isolation plans are in place and being modified daily...Use common hygienic sense and wash your fucking hands.

I think everyone has Chicken Little syndrome because the media hype, and this is likely political, or a test run for a bank crash.
The thing is though there is much worse than the flu out there, going to the doctor is one of them, and staying in the hospitals,
We don't shut down anything for the common cold each year, and it's killed more people, or hospitals for staff infections.

You know if Trump would use this he could build the whole wall because all those nasty Illegals that come here with bugs, and viruses.

We got bed bugs back from them, and a slew of dead deadly things back thanks for those caravans.
And if the Dems cared they would be demanding a wall.
