This series seems to have an American bias but it's good as i am getting insights that I might not get from a video or book with a Canadian bias

Wahington gets razed but in this series the initial razing of the Parliement building in York barely gets even mentioned

I always did like that song. I always thought that this song was about the Revolutionary War of 1776. I believe I need to understand that war better as well. I know the previous video I posted was long however it seems to me that a Canadian should know the history of this war of 1812

We learned in in grade school here, but not many remember it, and now who knows what they teach.
The war was a blunder for both sides, and it was very lucky for the Americans all the way through.
If England had their heart in it we would of had no chance, it was a David, and Goliath moment is all I can compare it with.
Money was tight I guess for the English, and no heart to spend more on a backwater.

That's the one in the documentary :)
As they said it's kind of not right, the Brits was pretty much massacred using their Napoleonic tactics marching on the barricades.

I am currently reading Book Of The Founding Of The United States It's like a large magazine and is just the right level for right now. I have finished the very interesting part about the Revolutionary War and have just finished the part of the 1812 was. It is odd though as this book is published in the UK that it omits the part about the Americans burning down the Canadian parliament building. I will soon be reading the pages on the American constitution which does really interest me. Being Canadian it doesn't seem right to me that I don't have a better knowledge of American history.
