Shotgun ! Liberal Hypocrisy of Gun Control

Post: # 27364Unread post Blue Frost »

The shotgun.....
You're sound asleep when you hear a thump outside your bedroom door.

Half-awake, and nearly paralyzed with fear, you hear muffled whispers.

At least two people have broken into your house and are moving your way.

With your heart pumping, you reach down beside your bed and pick up your shotgun.

You rack a shell into the chamber, then inch toward the door and open it...

In the darkness, you make out two shadows.
One holds something that looks like a crowbar.

When the intruder brandishes it as if to strike, you raise the shotgun and fire.

The blast knocks both thugs to the floor.

One writhes and screams while the second man crawls to the front door

and lurches outside.

As you pick up the telephone to call police, you know you're in trouble.

In your country, most guns were outlawed years before,

and the few that are privately owned are so stringently regulated as to make them useless..

Yours was never registered.

Police arrive and inform you

that the second burglar has died.

They arrest you for First Degree Murder

and Illegal Possession of a Firearm.

When you talk to your attorney, he tells you not to worry:
authorities will probably plea the case down to manslaughter.

"What kind of sentence will I get?" you ask.
"Only ten-to-twelve years,"

he replies, as if that's nothing.

"Behave yourself, and you'll be out in seven."

The next day, the shooting is the lead

story in the local newspaper.

Somehow, you're portrayed as an eccentric vigilante while the two men you shot are represented as choirboys.
Their friends and relatives can't find an unkind word to say about them..

Buried deep down in the article, authorities acknowledge that both "victims" have been arrested numerous times.

But the next day's headline says it all:

"Lovable Rogue Son Didn't Deserve to Die."

The thieves have been transformed from career criminals into Robin Hood-type pranksters..

As the days wear on, the story takes wings.

The national media picks it up,

then the international media.
The surviving burglar has become a folk hero.

Your attorney says the thief is preparing to sue you, and he'll probably win.

The media publishes reports that your home has been burglarized several times in the past and
that you've been critical of local police for their lack

of effort in apprehending the suspects.

After the last break-in, you told your neighbor that you would be prepared next time.
The District Attorney uses this to allege

that you were lying in wait for the burglars.

A few months later, you go to trial.

The charges haven't been reduced,

as your lawyer had so confidently predicted.

When you take the stand, your anger at

the injustice of it all works against you..

Prosecutors paint a picture of you

as a mean, vengeful man.

It doesn't take long for the jury to convict you of all charges.

The judge sentences you to life in prison.

This case really happened.

On August 22, 1999, Tony Martin of Emneth, Norfolk , England, killed one burglar and wounded a second.

In April, 2000, he was convicted and is now serving a life term..

How did it become a crime to defend one's own life in the once great British Empire ?
It started with the Pistols Act of 1903.

This seemingly reasonable law forbade selling pistols to minors or felons and
established that handgun sales were to be made only to those who had a license.

The Firearms Act of 1920 expanded licensing to include not only handguns but all firearms except shotguns..

Later laws passed in 1953 and 1967 outlawed the carrying of any weapon by private citizens and
mandated the registration of all shotguns.

Momentum for total handgun confiscation began in earnest after the Hungerford mass shooting in 1987.
Michael Ryan, a mentally disturbed man with a Kalashnikov rifle, walked down the street shooting everyone he saw.
When the smoke cleared, 17 people were dead.

The British public, already de-sensitized by eighty years of "gun control", demanded even tougher restrictions.
(The seizure of all privately owned handguns was the objective even though Ryan used a rifle.)

Nine years later, at Dunblane, Scotland,

Thomas Hamilton used a semi-automatic weapon to murder 16 children and a teacher at a public school.

For many years, the media had portrayed all gun owners as mentally unstable, or worse, criminals.

Now the press had a real kook with which to beat up law-abiding gun owners.

Day after day, week after week, the media gave up all pretense of objectivity and demanded a total ban on all handguns.

The Dunblane Inquiry, a few months later, sealed the fate of the few sidearm's

still owned by private citizens.

During the years in which the British government incrementally took away most gun rights,
the notion that a citizen had the right to armed self-defense came to be seen as vigilantism.

Authorities refused to grant gun licenses to people who were threatened,
claiming that self-defense was no longer considered a reason to own a gun.

Citizens who shot burglars or robbers or rapists were charged while the real criminals were released.

Indeed, after the Martin shooting, a police spokesman was quoted as saying,

"We cannot have people take the law into their own hands."

All of Tony Martin's neighbors had been robbed numerous times,
and several elderly people were severely injured in beatings by young thugs
who had no fear of the consequences.
Martin himself, a collector of antiques,
had seen most of his collection
trashed or stolen by burglars.

When the Dunblane Inquiry ended,
citizens who owned handguns
were given three months to turn them over to local authorities.

Being good British subjects,
most people obeyed the law.
The few who didn't were visited by police
and threatened with ten-year prison sentences if they didn't comply.

Police later bragged that they'd taken
nearly 200,000 handguns from private citizens.

How did the authorities know who had handguns?
The guns had been registered and licensed.
Kind of like cars. Sound familiar?

WAKE UP AMERICA;
THIS IS WHY OUR FOUNDING FATHERS PUT THE SECOND AMENDMENT IN OUR CONSTITUTION.

"...It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds.."
--Samuel Adams

If you think this is important, please forward to everyone you know.

You had better wake up, because Obama is doing this very same thing, over here, if he can get it done.

And there are people in congress and on the street that will go right along with him.

:) It's a shame people need a gun, but to be charged for protecting ones self is really a shame on society.
In your own home your suppose to lay down, and passably be killed because your unarmed.
I say someone breaks in it's them choosing a bad way of life that is highly dangerous. Job hazard to die if that's a better way of putting it.

I already made it known to many that Ill shoot anyone breaking in, and Ill drag them back out in the street.
If I have to go to jail I will, but at least me, and my mom wont be a victim.
My nephew found out not to break in, he had a gun on him when the light came on.
The two that attempted to break in my shed moved really fast to get away also.

I kind of agree. If I stabbed someone to protect myself and/or my family and I get charged, it would be no fair. All I'm doing is defending myself and/or protecting somebody else. But then if you can get a gun, so can the bad guys.

The bad guys will always have guns, they can take them from you, or the cops even.
I have stopped by parked cruisers with the trunk opened on more than one occasion with a shotgun, and gear sitting right there.
Also who is to say that the cop isn't the criminal when off duty.

You have some of the biggest hypocrites here right in America.
Vote in someone outwardly anti gun, and anti American for that matter, and most own guns, and thinks you should not.
You have some of the worst on the west coast in Hollywood saying no guns for you, but it's alright for us.
They say we make money from them in our movies, and sick Rap videos so it's alright.
Well it's not right so put your money where your mouth is, and give yours guns up you bunch of hypocrites.
Most gun crimes in America is by Democrats, want proof just look in every prison in America, or just look where the people are in Democrat states to see.
Talking about gun nuts :kez:

Liberal Gun-Hoarding On The Rise
http://www.cap-news.com/story.php?id=200904014

PEACHVILLE, Ga. (CAP) - From rusty pickups to cherry Harleys to hulking Hummers, Earl's Gun-Porium in Peachville has seen a wide range of vehicles parked outside its camouflaged doors, but owner Earl LaMotte is still surprised by what's been showing up in his parking spaces of late.

"Used to be my doors would swing open and in would come a good old boy in a wife-beater or flannel shirt," Earl says. "Now it's more often than not a doctor or lawyer in a fruity sweater with Chinos or tennis shorts, polluting the place up with their Sex In The City ring tones."

Earl shrugs. "Long as their money's green, what do I care?"

What Earl LaMotte has been seeing in his Peachville store over the past few months has been happening in gun shops and at gun shows across the country: liberals are starting to arm up. Unlike the right, who have also been buying weapons and ammo in record numbers since the November election, the left is not afraid that the government may soon restrict sales or actually start to come after gun owners.

No, the left fears one thing: the right.

"Well, geez Louise, you've got Chuck Norris and Glenn Beck and all of them stoking up their base with talk of revolution and secession and the like, and it's got me and mine scared," says Tom Morris, a professor of physics at the University of Vermont. He lingers over a Starbucks latte, a shopping list laden with armaments on the table in front of him.

"My reasons for purchasing weapons are actually two-fold," Morris says. "One, if 20% of the right, the hard-core dead-enders, are arming to the teeth, who do you suppose they're going to be using those guns on? According to talk radio, I'm the enemy because I voted for Obama, so that certainly makes me a target. And two, if I buy a few guns, that's a few less guns in the hands of a man with a Kill Em All, Let God Sort Em Out bumper-sticker on his truck."

The buying spree by both left and right has resulted in record prices for items such as assault rifles, ammunition and handguns, with many stores experiencing stocking problems.

"Left, right, they both seem to like the assault rifles, and the upper shelf ammo, the armor piercers, hollow points and stuff like that," Earl LaMotte says. "I've had trouble keeping up with some of that stuff. Other items, like targets, have been better. Conservatives like themselves a nice target with Arabs or Mexicans on them, while the liberals like to shoot at Dick Cheney targets for some reason."

Gun companies are taking advantage of the left's interest in firearms by expanding their advertising into an area they previously wouldn't have dreamed of trying: the liberal media.

"The NY Times Review of Books ran a Dostoyevsky retrospective a couple of weeks ago, and so naturally we blanketed that week's issue with Kalashnikov AK-47 ads," says Mo Hardover, owner of the Manhattanite Mitiaman, a NYC gun shop. "We ran out of all Russian-made rifles in something like three days. It was unreal."

The phenomenon of liberal arming has become so pervasive that it has also reached into the fabled left-wing power center of Hollywood, with celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberb and Seth Rogan announcing plans to launch their own designer handgun labels in time for this year's holiday season.

"We're calling it Gatts by Goldberg, sugar, and you know that when it comes to weapons, Whoopi's not gonna steer you wrong," the actress recently confirmed to CAP News.

Well you're certainly right about the hypocrisy, especially when they say they're arming themselves to defend against Republicans. They must not be able to hear themselves talk. :kez:

I just find it very sickening their candidates tell me I shouldn't be able to protect myself, but it's alright for them to have guns.
I agree some people shouldn't have them, and their should be rules, but the criminals are the issue, and the government that wants an unarmed society.

Here is the way it works legally in Canada: You are not allowed to instigate violence in any way, however, you are allowed to match a level of violence. The different levels of violence start with what they, (the courts) refer to as open hand meaning that if somebody spits on you or slaps you first, then you are allowed to slap them back as a form of self defense. If they hit you with a closed fist or kick you, you can then match those levels in kind as a form of self defense. If the aggressor attacks you with a weapon, (that could range anywhere from a rock to a howitzer), that is construed as deadly force. you can match that,(if you still feel up to it after being shot or stabbed or beaten with say a tire iron), in self defense by finally killing them, provided that they are in fact intending on using that weapon as a means of attempting to murder you. Of course, having killed said aggressor, you will still be facing a court judge or lawyer who will dutifully pick your story apart to ensure that you couldn't have solved the situation in a more civilized way such as offering the aggressor a cup of tea. :judge:

I find that stupid, no fight is so fair that you go hand to hand, knife to knife.
That in my opinion gets an innocent person killed because the bad person likely has a knife, and you don't, and don't know how to use one.

Nevertheless my dear fellhow, the law is the law wot? Cawn't have chaps shooting at each other can we? Why that is what we have the police for. That way, they will be criticized for doing their job and you won't be charged then. You may in fact be dead, but still maintaining your good character right to the end.

I know Beanthere, I know how it works, and believe it or not it's pretty much the same here.
I on the other hand will shot someone before they shot me because the cops are never there till after a crime is done.
I have been lucky, I stopped a few break ins, and have intimidated a few that might have happened.

The trick here Blue, is to keep a balaclava in your bedroom along with an unregistered weapon. That way, you can always tell the police that there were two sets of intruders in the house and one killed the other. Just make sure you hide the gun and balaclava and then if there are any survivors, they won't be able to identify you as the gunman.
