Nice! Is that a 2mm pin fire gun? You don't see those here, as they seem to be more of a UK thing to get around gun laws...

WOW, been a long time since I saw something like that, last one was at a flea market when I was a kid.
I really wanted it, but it wasn't for sale.

They make these little guns with little cartridges.

AR-15s, AK-47s and a variety of pistols.

What is interesting is that they make them exactly like the original, only smaller.

You gotta be a watchmaker to make something like that. :teehe:

I saw a mini cannon once that shot black powder, wanted it also, but couldn't afford the thing as a teen.
Well I could afford it, but just didn't want to let go of that much money, i think it was like $380, and that was the early 1980s.

But why??? Obviously they aren't safe for children. So do adults play with shit like that?... Maybe as a novelty it might hold someone's attention for a shot or two but other than that I don't see the attraction or why anyone would spend the effort of making it. Kind of stupid if you ask me.

I have to assume that in many of the Euro countries where gun laws are so ludicrous you would need a permit to buy or own something like that. Hell, in the UK you can't even have a sharpened popsicle stick on your person in public. Eventually you won't even be allowed a steak knife in your own home in the UK and the rest of Western Europe is following close behind.

That's all they are is a novelty like the mini cannons.
The enjoyment is just collecting them, and showing them off.

I'm still looking for that trench gun Ill likely never get to use.
Oh well, someone will get it when I'm gone. :later:

I think they just wanna make an upscaled or downscaled version of real guns because its a feat of engineering.

A miniaturized automatic rifle that works.

Its sort of like when people make small engines that work.

You know those radio-controlled airplanes have real jet-engines now.

A miniaturized version of the Blackbird that works exactly like the real thing.

Looks a bit strange, but very nicely made by what I can see on it.
I bet it kicks like hell, especially with the folder on it.

You've sort of answered your own question... They're a novelty, and people like to collect novelty type things. And they're also not considered a true firearm in many places (although I do believe they are now considered a real gun in the UK, which is of no surprise since as you've mentioned you can't even possess a butter knife there in public).

In Canada, they'd basically fall into the same class as a lower powered air gun, meaning no gun license required to buy or own. I'll assume there are places in Europe where similar rules apply.

You also need to know that pinfires were hugely popular in Europe, which is why they're still a thing there. Not so much in the US or here, which is why you just don't really see them around here.

Look at them as the European version of miniature reproduction working cannons from say, the Civil War... They really serve no purpose, and aren't cheap, but people still buy and collect them.

I used to see the mini cannons a lot when I was a kid, and teen, but not so much now.
They sold for a lot back then, but I never got one, always wanted a few I saw though.
For the price you could buy a good rifle, or pistol.

Most people had them as a desk ornament.

Ya, I don't see them around here much either. If I wanted one, I'd probably have to order it online...

When I used to be able to go to Fort Knox the PX had them all the time, about everyone higher up had them on their desk back then.
Even in the doctors offices they had them.
I wanted one, but couldn't afford them.
I say a Howitzer model of one even, but it was likely special made, probably in South Korea .
They even had Tank models that fired, they where likely not made here either.
A lot of officers when overseas had a lot of stuff made for them special.

I need one because I don't really have to explain why.

Really though I'm not robbing people like politicians do so I can't afford guards like they do so I can complain about the people being armed.
Also i will never trust government, they don't have the best interest in the people, and a bad record of doing bad things to them armed, or not.
