i see every single day very many electric cars way way less than $30 000 usd in thailand. people here have way less money than people in the west. why would people be buying them in great numbers can only be as are cheaper and long term way cheaper in maintenance costs. yes the battery will die and you need a new one the biggst expense. but china has solved that if so cheap just throw away the car and get a new one

You know the funny part about the US auto makers is greed, but they don't get they could make more money cutting cost, and making better cars.
It's a big reason they lost so much of the Auto market.
Ford has a saying, 'Quality is Job one" the workers always laughed, and said the quality was all in the first car built.
The rest was all profit motivated, and getting mass numbers out the door.

They don't make bad cars mostly, but do have issues since they look over a lot of issues that should not be.
I saw a lot over the years at Ford, a lot of messed up stuff, including buying bumpers off of employee cars, hacked up wire looms to make them work even.
Shift after shift of bad transmissions go out the door just to be parked for months.

I think Louisville is Number one all the time for Air pollution, the air taste nasty even.
One of our top offenders for vehicles are public transportation, they have gotten better, but still pretty bad.
for the whole of the pollution issue I think a lot of it is aircraft, expressways, power plants, and industry.
With EV's on the rise it adds to the burden of those power plants, and if everyone switched to evs we would have long blackouts.

I would like to see the Arabs loose big, but they are partly the issue here with fueled vehicles.
They have powerful lobbies in Washington along with other big oil.
We would have even better cars now if not for those people with a lot better mileage.

You can get a full sized truck with better millage than a small one, now how does that make since.
With the tech from the 70s we should be getting 50+ miles a gallon.
