Vancouver has an amazing park on the top of Grouse Mountain overlooking the city. The view, the bears, the windmill tower, restaraunts and the luberjack show all make for a unforgettable experience and I believe is a must for any tourist coming to Vancouver. Can you imagine what it is like to come accross one of these giants in the forest ?

Poor bears, it's sad to see them in that place, they should be free, or in a bigger place where they can have some peace.

They have a huge area to roam, loads to eat, a safe place for hibernation. Like my pet turtle. I believe they prefer to be couch potatoes if they get the oppportunity. The buffalo in Wainwrite Alberta I have heard are the same.

People look a bit close, they may get a little used to it, but that's not a good place it causes stress in bear. A turtle is a bit different, but I'm sure they would like more than a terrarium.
It's good for bears in captivity to have a lot of stimulation to keep healthy..

We have some Bison close a few herds in Indiana, and a few miles a man has some on his farm.
One place grow Beefalo half cow half bison.

What type of turtle

I have been there. The area the bears have to roam is several acres. My turtle was a wild one that I found at a resevoir caught in an illegal net. I don't know what type it was. I was very surprised to discover that turtles are very smart and that a creature which lives alone, hatches from an egg alone with no mommy or daddy would get attached to it's owner. Whn I studied she would always climb over to my bed, climb up and sit on my stomach or shoulder while I did my chinese character cards. I studied for hours everyday learning how to read Chinese.

They are cool, and learn to enjoy being taken care of, I just hate to see some locked up in a little tank .
Chinese is a hard one to learn, 10,000 characters isn't there ?
