Earthquakes And Volcanoes

Apparently there’s been 30 deaths and a hundred thousand people out of electricity.

If that happened anyplace else the number of dead, and damage would be enormous.
Japan has the best building codes just for those reasons.

One thing about an earthquake that big it can change the earths tilt, and speed of the turn, I have to wonder if it affected it this time.

I hope the town is there in the end, it's gotta be real worrisome for those people.

Well that was yesterday. Today the town of Grindovik wasn’t so lucky. What a nightmare. Iceland is a paradise with a serious lava problem as Hawaii also does.

From the little I found most the town is gone now, the lava cut right into it with little effort.
At least everyone got out, and is safe, that's the important part.

Well I was wrong, here is what I found on it, the town is mostly still there thankfully for those people.
The video I saw this morning was in the dark, and looked very bad.

Hopefully this is coming to an end now. I imagine that Icelanders are nice folk. What a mysterious country. An Arctic island populated by Vikings.

There is a hot spring spa I always wanted to go enjoy there, but never got to go.

A lot of those so called Vikings just wanted to get away from war, and killing so they migrated there.
The kings still sent people for men, and whatever else they could get.

Hopefully Icelanders will get a break from these eruptions when this is over.

It can be a constant there, off the coast is the tectonic plate that runs right into Iceland.

Fortunately no towns are going to get fried from this fissure. That’s a lot of lava though.

Big quake again, wow, gotta be bad for the people there.

Taiwan Quake

I just heard that this was the biggest earthquake in Taiwan’s history and people were killed. Will it trigger any of the west coast faults in the next few years ?

I think it was the biggest in fifty years.
Earlier there was nine dead, and fifty missing.
I feel bad for those families who lost people, pretty sad news.

Here it goes again, they don't get a break it seems, it's their fault after all sorry I just had to get that out of my system.

Iceland just keeps on growing larger. I would like to visit Iceland

There is a big hot spring spa over there I would love to spend a week at, or more.
From what I have seen, and read over the years the people are really nice, and friendly also.
Not a bad place for a vacation if you can stand the cold.
