When server people are useful? They are paid $8.00 an hour, and read from script. They cannot help you if the answer is not in their script.

Ill have to think about that, but appreciate the offer really I do.
I hate to be a burden, and would want to do some of the work .
You know me, I like my smileys, and editing the skins for the holidays. .

I don't even know how that would all work moving the forum.

yes!! and i'd love to let you do whatever you want with the forum too:))

i am not 100% sure i'd know how to do it but we can certainly give it a try blue - when you make up your mind, just send the zipped database and the file system to my email address and i'll take it from there? i'll also ask my host people for help need be - they moved me, so hopefully they'll know how to move you too:))..

Why not move to one of the free hosting provider, e.g. 2freehosting.com or 1freehosting.com? You will be able to keep your domain name bluefrost.org. You will have total control on the account. If you need help in migrating, I can help you too. SQL database does require some editing but whole migration can be done in couple of hours.

that sounds good too! up to you, bluey - what do you wanna do?:) cool with me whatever you decide - if you can find a good free host that could be little easier when it comes to modifying your stuff - if you were under memebee's roof you'd have to wait for me to come home from work to update any files or images you'd want to upload..

hey just realized that you may have a comment about this little subdomain i made recently at somebody's request:
http://memebee.com/richchineseladiesfor ... /index.php
- apparently there is a significant hidden market for dating forums that i didn't know existed:).

I had this free forum much like the ones that andy1 allow people to make here. I had really restricted options in the administrator control panel. Couldn't do any modding. Asked the owner a couple of times if I could pay him or her to back up the forum. Then one day my forum was gone. It was deleted mysteriously without my knowledge.

GF,
Free or not free, you should always make a regular backup. You could have used phpMyAdmin to backup the database and backup directories using ftp.
Anyway, it is strange that your forum was deleted. Maybe they shutdown servers and went out of business.

Like GF said there was restrictions, and issues when on the free ones.
The one I had was constantly cutting me off for connection issues, and size, I have way to many smileys :001_unsure:

I appreciate the offers Sid, and Andy, Ill keep them in mind while my server keeps giving me excuses.
