Well I thought I would offer :001_unsure: I hate for it to expire and not be used but of well.
Maybe I should start an online business  maybe a casino you win tokens with to buy stuff but can trade the tokens in for money
That's the ticket, I can get around the gambling laws that way like the Japanese do.

that sounds awesome but you'd still need some money to start the whole thing, right:)) unless! you find some sponsors:)

I was just kidding but it would be a good business, I do have a little money so sponsors wouldn't be needed most likely.

Hey I got updated finally in a round about way, I had to load all the merged info in manually, didn't take long though.
Now if I learn to install code Ill be alright :confused1:

hi:) hm, that should happen automatically, as soon as you upload those files they should override your old files. what did you mean by loaded the merged info manually?

It created like 50 merged files and I had to go in to load them in the root, it told me that manually would be the safest way so I did.
It really didn't take long and the board was only down about 15 minutes when I did it. :)

blue, they are not all supposed to go to root, they are supposed to go each to its own folder just the way the big update folder sorted them out. e.g. you had a bunch of files that need to go to folder adm>style for example acp_ban.html or acp_forums.html and so on. it won't work if you don't upload each in its intended location so that it overrides the old (existing) file.

LOL I did put them in the folders I just use Root as a general term. Some went in the main folder, some in includes, some in styles, it just exchanged them out and rewrote the files.
I didn't have to update like that the last few times, I wonder why it had so many changes.

Hi Andy1

I guess that and where I changed a few things coming to my server, I didn't save the file or I would tell you some of the changed files.
I think I have updated three times so far and didn't have any of this stuff to do.

haha! oh i know what you mean - but blue, fewer mods you have the better, cause they also have updates! - which i didn't know when i was first starting - so not only do you have to update the whole software and the database every time there's a global update, you have to update all your mods too..

Oh I have seen the updates for them already and wonder if I should use them when what I have is working. If they have no security update I really don't think they are needed.

hmm.. hard to say what to do.. cause by that logic you don't have to update the forum software either if it's working.. but i'd be worried to leave things non-updated for too long because older your version is there's less and less support for it, till in the end they discontinue it completely.

Well big difference, you can still run without a mod :001_unsure: and I can always put the new version in it's place without disturbing the board long.
Ill look more into it though. :)
Hey I have Christmas all up on my forum, it's looking good I think :)
