very curious about the cloud mod

Unread post by andy1 » August 31st, 2011, 12:36 am

http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/m ... tag_cloud/

last validated for 3.0.7 version.

i keep saying how less is more when it comes to mods but i'm so easily intrigued by some of them lol:( what do you think about having a cloud? somewhere on the index page for example.

It's a search isn't it of the most looked for searches, I use one here sometimes.

It comes in handy sometimes, on a forum I don't know how it would work .

I assume it will work like the search and you put in what you want people to search for, or what they want.
Something like computer, food, health, entertainment, or videos I guess.
It might work better on a larger forum, being on a small one you might not get the example you want after thinking about it. That site I posted it works well, but the site is really big.

yes! i'd install it here just to try out the install but would love to see it in action at the big forum. it would work as the search as you said but it might also help revive sometimes older threads which are still interesting to somebody:)

dunno, will see. not today tho:)..

Yeah some older threads pulled up sometimes is nice, I enjoyed when someone on DV would do it.
I would look sometimes and pull some out of the pile :)

the cloud mod lost it's appeal somewhat in the overall busyness of the past couple of days.

i've increased the quota for attachments on the the forum to 100 MiB cuz we managed to max out on the existing limit of 50 MiB. still no updates on either skin - here or the other forum.

Oh I need to update the skin again, I lost it when I did a backup reinstall a few weeks back :(
The site has a lot of errors acting up on occasion, I wish I could start fresh but keep all the post.
My search don't work now either so that cloud mod likely wouldn't work either.

blue, move the database on the fresh set of files, it is not very hard and it's easier now while your forum is still not too big - i did it for this one here to remove all the arcade games and stuff - that's a very extensive mod.

How to do a clean re-install of the latest phpBB3 version.

I need a new sql set up, not just the regular files. Also I don't know what to keep and what to get rid of.

I would drop those tables, they are useless if you uninstalled it.
I wish I knew more about sql, it would help a lot if I could just toss the whole thing out and start over. What it is is I have the old table from the other server conflicting.
Back up the sql, drop that arcade, it will b fine, and you ca bring it back if it does mess up.

It's what I did with my forum with several extra files, they took up space and was double from the other server. LOL like you tell me, back up first.
