yes always back up!:)

i'll post this here cuz it's somewhat related to the clouds search/mod - it's about topic tags!

i went on a "sabbatical" the other day to this giraffe boards forum that i told you i kind of liked in the past - they are still very cool but i find them a bit too limiting as to what they allow where (say they have subforums in which they don't allow pictures to not hinder the convos - whatev:) - anyway - they have this very cool feature which is nothing new really but i've never seen it used so freely and for fun - topic tags! every user can add up to 5 tags (i believe) to any topic and of course they can be used later for search. but the fun part is that they could be the goofiest things sometimes only vaguely related to the topic at hand or not related at all, yet they all kind of find place above the space you're typing in right? (above the reply window) - (they use vBulletin forum software) and it's just cute and cool and fun:)).. anyway, so i looked for a mod that does that on phpBB and there is one - topic tags here http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p12864788

only i'm too chicken to install it on the big forum because it's beta!:( but maybe some day when somebody decides to validate it. i'll leave the link here so we can find it later if anybody wants to play with it.

I couldn't even think about using any mods right now, my search is disabled right now even because it makes my site go down leaving it on. I guess the connections don't close.

blue wonder if it would help to do the simple repair database in your cpanel? you probably tried it.. so i don't understand why are you having these issues.. hm. did you try describing the problem on one of the phpBB support forums? some of those people are so proficient with the code, they would know exactly what the prob is and how to fix it.

No never on the phpbb forum much, but maybe I should be :) I do look sometimes .
Most the stuff is over my head, and it's a lot to do with the sql setup.

I will one day, it's running alright at the moment and the server did some work that helped.
Of course no apology for blaming me for their server. :001_unsure:

It comes in handy sometimes, on a forum I don't know how it would work .

I have only used it on pixdaus.com looking for photos, it was a novelty on there to me, on a forum likely useless.
I just as soon use search myself.

search on a forum, the directory might need rebuilt. You delete the old one in the ACP, them rebuild it in the same page. It's in Forum maintenance the search section.
In Maintenance then search index.

My search don't work now either so that cloud mod likely wouldn't work either.
wait our site does not have a forum?:) unless you have more than that one.
