Cool, thankfully I have yet to be spammed, just one out of the way post that I got rid of after insulting. :)
I saved the whole page in the link :) very helpful maybe.

talk about spam - nothing protects you from it if you allow non-reg posting, none of the spambot countermeasures provided by the basic forum software. phpBB smarten up!

Q&A good against spambots - bad against manual spammers
captcha good against manual spammers - bad against spambots.
i'll be damned.
actually, having both active at the same time would rock.

Yes it would but I don't mind since my forum is slow, lately I have had few try it and the ones that did failed since images was off for them. :)
I made them a thread but they didn't like it I guess lol

i'm noticing a slow invasion of spam members on this forum as of late.. still haven'ty done anything about it cept an occasional deletion but been wondering what will it take to discourage them:)

Slow lol I have been deleting 5-10 or more a day.
It's no big deal really but some sign up to do it.

wow. just deleted 11 pages by 30 spam members = 330 spam accounts that were never activated - those were made in the past week or two. :blink:

who knows:)).. these reg'ed but never activated accounts but they might have guest posted. just deleted almost two pages of the same - about 60 new bot registrations in one day? Image

I always check the stop forum spam before deleting them unless they post spam .
Usually they are on there.

ha! sounds good only i think you don't need a mod for that - you can just disable links/BBCode for the new reg users and guests. no?

blue!:) did you check the permissions tab? go poke around there and you'll see it.
