my sister use to have tons of avacado trees in her house. They are so easy to grow. Her place has lots of windows,so shw use to just sprout them in a bowl of water and plunk them in a pot. They loved her house and grew like crazy.
I always killed mine [forgot to water],so I gave up! LOL

I can't wait for them to get bigger!!

NSgirl....my old place had tonnes of sunlight, but it was too hot, this new place is mostly in the shade and that's why I chose the place and the location....2 windows do get sun, but even tho my balcony is partial shade, it is very bright so all of my plants do spectacualr! So I don't have to worry if I am gone for 5 days or 1 week in the summer while my plants sit in blasting heat, dry out and die.

I wish I had more direct sunlight, but I can't take the heat....2 summers ago at my old place, it got so friggin hot we couldn't sleep in our bedrooms (which were on the 3rd floor) we had to sleep in the living room on the 2nd floor and it was still hot, but not so bad.

I believe anyone can grow a plant wherever they live, you just have to have a knack for growing them! My ex.b/f's mom was a wizard at growing anything!! I'd give her a dying plant and she would take care of it and within 2 weeks she's bring it back to life and even better than it was when I bought it!!

Oh I can grow plants when I want to.I use to have tons of plants myself, then after I had kids,I got rid of them all. the last few times I did the avacado thing,I put the small plant on my basement window sil and just forgot about them. If I really to wanted to grow them, and looked after them,I am sure I could.

Sadly hon, we don't live in a climate where a mango grown from a pit with thrive to grow into a full potnetial tree flooded with mangos...but they are great for house plants....these type of plants grown from a seed or a pit with thrive greatly, if taken care of properly, but after 5 years they get shabby and grow yucky...they must be thrown out and started again.

I grew a lemon tree from seed..(try growing 12 seed because chances are only 2-3 will actually make it.) and it gret to be over 6 feet tall, but after 5 years it got out of control and I threw it out.

Nice. I also have a mango tree in my backyard. Gardening is a great activity and it’s a real pleasure to enjoy the end product. It is nice to see your garden grow over the years and to see the result of all your creativity and hard work.
