How difficult is it really...

Unread post by Жekko »

to form the [sk] consonant cluster?

i mean really

when confronting the word asterisk as a child

i simply took a small amount of time (maybe a minute)

to understand what the sound was and how to make it

and then from that moment on i have had no problem pronouncing the word

this sound would seem much simpler to understand and make

when dealing with only one preceding vowel

some people are just lazy i guess

also

if you make the F sound

while pronouncing the [th] diagraph

you should be at least six feet away from me

or you are likely to be kicked in the face

i will not tolerate people who speak like retards

some people talk like xekko is describing. it is annoying. I knew someone who did that, from Trinidad. I wonder if it's a Trinidad thing. It seems to happen on the East coast. I haven't heard it here.

Get in on it.

I've seen well dressed, educated, articulate, even successful people...that bring my opinion of them to a grinding halt when they use this word that way.
I can ONLY imagine, that they have risen to their level of success by other means. Any literate person, who has actually seen the word in print, is simply demonstrating that they can't sound out a 3 letter word. :(
