Btw why is insurrection such a bad word? Indirection is how democracy originally came into play.

If an insurrection is taking place, that a perfect sign that democracy is missing.

He was a symptom of a much bigger problem, not the cause. The cause is still alive and well.

Agreed. I bought a bench grinder, when I really needed an angle grinder in the first place...
Dud you spread your cheeks for that angle grinder?

No. I just went to Canadian Tire, chased down the typical Canadian Tire employee that avoids customers like the plague, had her open up the glass security slider which held said angle grinder, walked up to the till, paid for grinder, and left the store with my new Bosch grinder.

It was a fairly standard procedure...

So you went home and you had your way with the grinder. Ok.

Brought it home and made sure it worked. Now I have to remove the three mower blades from my rider, and grind 'em until they're nice and sharp. Makes for a clean cut.

You wouldn't be familiar with that though, since you have never mowed a lawn.

I learned how to drive on a lifted standard truck (I cried, but I learned, I had no choice). Living out there, I have used a lawn mower, ride on mower, tractor and other huge ass trucks. Once you learn how to drive a standard, you can pretty much drive anything.

I also changed my oil in my car and the truck...my bf at the time made me, said I had to know this stuff. I learned a lot by watching him fix shit.

Just because I'm a woman doesn't mean I can't do anything...if I can do all that, chop wood, cut a tree down with a chainsaw, shoot guns, go to school, have hot sex...I can do anything.

Why did you leave this region? What was so attractive about that overpriced, overpopulated dump known as the Lower Mainland?

And now you're stuck in an area quickly being overpopulated by the Chinese menace! :o

And now you are in a town that is now even bigger than when I lived there. If I came back, it would not be the same.

I know all three towns have grown a lot. We use to go to the old theater in Castlegar, just 2 screens...it was so old it felt like 1920s, I'll never see anything like that again...so cool. Lot of small businesses up on Baker St I use to frequent (which are most likely gone).

At that time it was very clicky with the locals and I hard time making friends my age, they were upset people like me (city girl) were coming to their town and raking their jobs and how dare I be pretty!? I had a lot of male friends...not fond of the females out there. I would believe much has changed today.

BTW...is there a rail cart there? Where is it? And how long has it been there for?

Do you mean the Castle Theatre in Castlegar? If so, it is in fact still there, but on intermission due to Covid! Pic below is what it looks like.

Baker St. is still the same I'm sure. While some businesses come and go and the name in the window changes, you have to understand that people there do not want changes in areas like Baker St.

You say the locals were 'clicky' to you because you're a 'city girl'? I thought you grew up here? Or am I missing something? That said, I find the opposite: People here are awesome! Vancouver, on the other hand, is full of pretentious dicks.

And by 'rail cart', do you mean the Nelson Streetcar? Yes, it still runs. It has run since 1924. It is in, get ready for it... Nelson.

It was different 20 years ago...a lot has changed...I am a city girl who has lived in different areas...keep up Mel.

And no, it's an actual cart ride on one of the mountains, something like this..

Minus the guy being an asshole, I didn't watch the entire video...

UPDATE...DAMN! That video is disturbing...only watch the first bit and stop.

I'm not aware of any mountain cart rides that exist here. A Google search tells me Revelstoke has one though.

And you might be surprised as to how little changes here compared to big cities. The Dairy Queen still exists exactly as it has for many decades, as do many other things...

I just looked up stats on Nelson and the two maybe most important ones (for me), employment and amenities, look pretty grim.
