I am not going to go off to fight in a war because some politician and bureaucrat, bought up by a multinational corporation, feeds me a line, telling me that there are some 'bad guys' over there, and that we have to go there to KILL them.
WHAT FOR???
It's ludicrous!
What did the Vietnamese ever do to me?
Did they invade Texas? Roll their tanks into New York City? Bomb California?
What? What exactly is the quarrel?
WE invaded them! WE are the aggressors.
But we are also self righteous, so we don't like to admit it.
My country, right or wrong is not my motto.
Any support I have for ANY country is entirely conditional--conditional upon the right course of action on the part of said country.

They're changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace.
Christopher Robin went down with Alice.
Alice is marrying one of the Guard.
"A solger's life is turrible hard." Said Alice.

Of course, there are some wars which I would be interested in fighting.
Not the wars of Western Imperialist aggression; those are not the ones that interest me.
But I would seriously consider the wars of Islamic expansion. I would think about joining the jihad.
But then, that is a war for a good cause, and one that I really believe in.

I must say something to Loch--and to others.
The moment you enlist in the armed forces (or the police force), you enter the sphere of violence!
Once you sign on the dotted line, that's it. Your life is forfeit. When the time comes--and it will--you will be witnessing carnage. You are going to have to kill and be killed. You will see violent death and mutilation.
Think well on it.
If you kill someone, it is quite likely that someone will do that to YOU!
It is a simple case of bad Karma!
There is no getting away from it. You are now involved in a violent activity, whether for good or ill.
If your country is attacked, and the enemy is out to kill you, then if you don't fight, you are going to die anyway.
In that case, you better your chances of survival by fighting.
But that only applies if the enemy is the aggressor. If not, then enlisting is a 'bad move' in my opinion.
Then be prepared to die. Do not think that you might be the lucky one and survive.
Even if you live, you will never be the same again.
If you are conscripted, it is another matter. There is no blame there.
But if you are a war-monger, I have no sympathy for you.
You're already dead!

I am a wounded warrior.
But I have nurses. Nursing is the most Venusian of professions.
They nurture and blow me back to health.
That's what Venus does for Mars: She tends to His wounds.
The scars on my soul will always be there. They are eternal.

My Achilles tendon is slowly and quite painfully healing.
I always identified with Achilles, anyway.
It's stupid dumb irony--but strangely fitting.

I want more clarification of who exactly the "you people" are.

I also would like to know why the bitch sitting next to Don nodded his head in agreement but is still employed.

...but sometimes, Wars are fought in the name of a good cause...such as preventing one's nation from being overrun so that its traditions, cultures and families are preserved. I equate these kind of soldiers warriors who are fighting against a hostile force which is trying to take them and their loved ones down. Sometimes the inhabitants have no choice but to fight back.

One such conflict was the Russo-Finnish War in which the USSR tried to overrun Finland in 1940, but failed:

I've heard of numerous exploits where Finnish men lost eyes and limbs in an effort to save their country, and by all accounts, succeeded. Aside from being thieves, The Russians/Soviets were among other things, thugs & brutal rapists.

But I agree that many wars are fought for plunder to fulfill the greedy ambitions of evil men.

One such confrontation was the Iraq War, clearly started on a lie by the USA to steal that nation's oil.
