So I bought a Bosch angle grinder...

Unread post by Hugo Boss »

I have discovered that all angle grinders are made in China, except one brand that still assembles in Germany.

I have also discovered that you can buy a cheap angle grinder for less than $20. My Bosch wasn't $20, but it wasn't that expensive either.

What I haven't discovered, is how you can even manufacture an angle grinder for less than $10 (in business, it's typical to see actual manufacturing costs at least doubled, if not tripled or quadrupled, at the consumer price at point of sale).

That being said, if I was to manufacture an angle grinder for sale to the world and be competitive also, I would have to manufacture the entire grinder for less than $5. The plastic housing, the gears, the switch, the power cord, packaging, and a ton of other things.

Just boggles my mind that the Chinx can make an angle grinder for $5.

Agreed. I bought a bench grinder, when I really needed an angle grinder in the first place...

The right tool, along with the right parts, fittings, materials can make things so easier. I hate McGivered shit.

Even if I had free slave labour from beginning to end of all production processes, I still can't understand how an angle grinder could be produced for $5.

It just boggles my mind!

High production quotas, unpaid over-time, shitty wages.

Work your ass off just so you can return to your cage apartment for a quick sleep.

German isn't the hardest language to learn actually, since it shares enough similarities to the English language that we know...

It was actually my first language, as I didn't learn English proper until I entered Kindergarten!

It can sound harsh at times, but you can't put a price on a firm German "Nein" that you shall train your German Shepherd to adhere to, in the upcoming Fourth Reich...

Bosch angle grinders are mostly shit and they lock you into into their proprietary disc replacements, like most things Bosch.

No they don't. They use standard discs. The DeWalt disks fit just fine in my Bosch...

Careful why? Because you like the taste that only Tico teens can squirt in your geriatric bum cheeks and mouth?

ALL disks. Colour doesn't matter. All 4.5" disks are the same here...

I didn't ask about the colour of the disks. I asked if the tool was from the Bosch blue range or green.
