Ethiopian red lentils (to eat with injera bread or rice). It's the best. Years ago a neighbour would bring this to me, since then, I always crave it. You can always get these lentils with injera at an Ethiopian restaurant. It's very nice:

I guess since Vaisakhi took place and to get my cultural learnings in and it is a weekend.

I might go with some spicy butter chicken, garlic naan bread and rice.

Butter chicken's too good.

I've started cooking with ginger and garlic (base of butter chicken). Ethiopian cabbage and carrots - the base is ginger and garlic:

I'm just having Whole Foods' Minestrone soup from the deli counter. Olive bread topped with butter, parmesano, finely cut onions, sliced cherry tomatoes, and cheddar, baked in the oven for a few minutes on the rack. A tinfoil sheet below to catch the cheese that melts down. Chocolate ice cream.

Homemade mac and cheese tonight using one spicy crumbled Italian sausage and a bit of pepperoni cut up into little cubes. I add finely chopped white onion and sweet red pepper.

Carrots and yam cooked in grated ginger, garlic, onions on an Ethiopian red lentil dish I've been working through. Freeze dried raspberries and not freeze dried medjool dates for dessert.

I went up to Jerry's not knowing what I wanted or what was available. It was 7:30 and they were closing things down and cleaning. I bought a cup of chicken salad from the outer case. Pepper Jack cheese and potato rolls for sammiches, if and when I get hungry tonight.

Cool ! I'd never heard of beef bolar before.
I wonder if these different cuts of meat aren't really any different than what we are accustomed to, or if they just have different names.

Scooter has enlightened me on various cuts of meat. We might be talking about the same cut, but it is called different things depending on the locale.

Made hash instead with the roast leftovers.

Added some bok choy, bacon, zucchini, apple cider vinegar, chicken stock, herbs, and served over a bed of chunky roasted pumpkin and carrot pieces.

This sounds yummy. I have never used sumac before, but this looks like something I might like.
Sumac...on the grocery list.
