Jobs That Require The Most Focus

Unread post by 454 » 02 Feb 2010, 07:45

...and concentration.

I remember a few years back reading some article on the jobs that require the highest total level of focus and concentration throughout the shift. I cannot locate any info via quick internet search. Lots of stuff about concentration camps and whatnot, but not exactly what I'm looking for.

Anyone know anything about this?

Notice that cops are not on the list. Because there's no real way to measure the effects of long term boredom interspersed with episodes of high stress and high adrenalin.

I think that list strictly calculates on the job deaths though... Policing is a fairly safe job, with a low on the job death rate...

As for high focus and concentration jobs, I would think surgeons would top the list.

Also....it's disturbing to see aircraft pilots, third on the list.....cause I'm thinking that they're taking a few others out in the process.

...the high stress & high adrenalin coming from having to wait too long in the timmy's lineups... em, yeah I can totally see it.

sorry to hear that. My family doc. is a anaesthesiologist, and a jolly good one at that..... and he's a dab hand with needles too. Interestingly, anaesthesiologists have a high rate of drug dependency, in the realm of docs.

she put a needle in my back to freeze my midsection for surgery and then they put me under as well. Well they kept checking me in recover with ice bags and the only place totally numb was my upper thigh and they could not believe I was not in any pain and after they dialed down the stuff it felt like hot needles in my legs and days later when I stood up and straightened out my leg I almost fell down from the pain. It felt like someone blasted my leg with a flame thrower. It took almost a year for it to slowly go away
