My phone just got an amber alert for a missing boy. Sounds like the mother took him.

I came to get down.

That was our only heat source. We were lucky. It was fun. We had friends coming over frequently for a home cooked meals. Played cards by lanterns that I had mainly for decorative purposes and candlelight. I enjoyed the absence of white noise.

I've lived without electricity for over a year.
The stove was powered by natural gas.
As long as the natural gas flowed, I didn't need electricity.
The kitchen and living room had morning light and the two bedrooms and bathroom had a western exposure;
it was always light.

I spent five years living in a cabin, on a 7000' mountain top without running water or any municipal utility hook-ups;
I had rainwater to boil and cook with, and propane tanks flown-in once every six weeks to supply the stove and furnace.

There are very few sounds at 7000' altitude; the buzzing of different insects, the rustle of Aspen leaves way below in the sub-alpine area on windy days, but not much else. Peaceful and tranquil.

Do you have to take a helicopter to get there?

Sounds peaceful.
I don't think I'd have a problem doing that, on my own...but not with 4 kids.
And I could live easier without electricity than I could without running water. :worry:

So he only worked at the Ram Lookout for five years. Well, not five years, but five seasons.

Where my house is we regularly have storms that topple the grid, the broadband and mobile phone tower network, and the municipal water system for a week or more, sometimes simultaneously.

It's no big deal.

14 seasons X 4.5 months per season = 5 years and three months.

Now fuck off stupid.

I do.
I usually travel for two months after closing day in September and I'm back home first week of December.
I work for 130 days straight and take a well deserved vacation in the fall.

Finally a reason to clear out my freezer and start fresh. Is it really important to cut power to appliances during the outage? I read I should do it, but in the past I never did and everything was ok.

if you get a 2015 and up F150 they have 110 outlets in the tailgate and with 130L fueltank it kinda is a rolling generator.

My surfer neighbor cut out a hole in the roof of his Chevy Astro cargo van, bolted a small wood stove to the floor and installed proper ducts and fittings. The job is a grade above Mickey Mouse, but it allows him to set-up in Jordan River for extended periods of surfing time.

You should stick to talking about those things you know first-hand, and 'employment' is not one of them.

You should talk about things you are familiar with, like being short and wearing Depends.

I've never hidden the fact that I have the same measurements as Bruce Lee at the moment of his death... 5'7", 142 lbs, 32 waist, etc.
It's been this way all my life.

What's your excuse for turning into a disgusting 220 lbs. gaseous meat sack?

Aren't they only rated for 150 watts max of output?

You are 5'6". Lol. I've seen you. You are no taller than 5'6". I am a firm 225 lbs. I eat healthy and work out. My 6'5" friend, who is nearly a foot taller than you recently said I look pretty good.

Sorry I guess, for not being as short as you'd like me to be. :(

I have gone without electricity for practically a week in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma, and in 2017 in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma. Yet even my deprivation was nowhere as painful as having to live through that in a Canadian winter!

I survived Kate in 1985.
Watch to Warning to Evacuation.
I lived in Hollywood, 100' from the beach.
Everybody left but me;
I had the beach to myself,
the whole boarded-up neighborhood to myself.
