I heard a radio program that described an investment scheme where the wealthy had the "opportunity" to finance young MBA's who had not even pitched a specific money making idea. The punters were putting up money to back total neophytes on spec .......kind of like investing in an Arabian colt in hopes that he grows up to win the Derby, or signing up a 9th grader to play college football in full confidence that he will grow up to be Brett Favre.
