Coronavirus (a.k.a. “Chinee Fru”)

Unread post by Жekko »

Unless you’ve studied what they have studied and had their experience, why would you expect to get it?

Summary:

-numbers of cases are downplayed to save face
-Wu Han government is being blamed as a scapegoat
-hospitals don't have proper equipment - no soap, ordinary surgical masks (not p95), no protective clothing
-generally - no soap in public washrooms or hospitals throughout China. Handwashing is not common. 5 star hotel washrooms have soap.
-The people of Wu Han province were given a heads-up that the city will be closed, so people purposely escaped/got out. Many people are on social media bragging about how they escaped.
-It is Chinese New Years. People have a driving force to see families in their home towns. Normally at this time of year people are so desperate to get home that thefts of vehicles go up. This year, it is dangerous that there will be large crowds of people. The government has shut down many events, but events will continue to happen regardless.

Omg. That one Toronto case is all over the news.

Are you really worried? I can’t say that I am. It’s just a really bad case of flu.

To prevent panic.

I don’t care much for the virus but I am moderately concerned about a large number of ppl going nuts all at the same time:(

To give you an example, more than a half of ppl in Richmond superstore were wearing face masks from what I’ve seen the other day. Now dare to sneeze in that line up.

Agreed. I find it all so messed up. There has to be a better way of dealing with potential pandemics.

56 dead in China. Estimated 2000 infected.

The lead doctor treating two Paris hospital patients for the new virus in China said Saturday that the illness appears less serious than comparable outbreaks of the past and that the chance of a European epidemic appears weak at this stage.

Yup. For all we know, those dying in China might be extremely malnourished overworked and/or homeless ppl who would take less than a bad case of flu to die:(

Back in the day people in China struggled with food. They would eat anything. Now they still eat anything. Snakes and bats can easily carry disease.

Karma...

sez the bat who feast on it:

"You harm me so I harm you."

"You eat me, I take you down with me."

....I guess the bat feasters don't believe in karma.

....oh well.

Bloggers on Chinese social media have vented their frustration at what they view as an inadequate response. A senior journalist writing for the local Communist Party-run newspaper, the Hubei Daily, has censured the local leadership in a post on Weibo. The central government in Beijing has not been immune to criticism, either. In an interview on CCTV, Zhou Xianwang, the mayor of Wuhan, suggested that the blame for any lack of transparency should lie with Beijing. The central government’s stringent rules around the release of sensitive information had effectively tied his hands.
